THREADS - DOUBLE DOSE

Today's threads post is a two in one.  And a pretty funny reality of being a girl at times.  I got all dolled up to go out with my bestie the other night for our date night, and by the time I was done taking these photos, I realized I was not going to be able to wear this dress out.  It was my first real attempt at wearing it, b/c when I got it, it was a bit too small.  But Ive kept it around regardless b/c I love it.  It felt like it fit for a little while, but then I realized the more I walked, the more it rode up... NOT going to work.  Ha ha, so I sadly came back in and changed.  But, then was happy I did b/c my second outfit was soooo comfy!  How many times do we get dressed up, only to change the whole outfit at the last moment?  I know its happened to me more than once.  So, I decided to photograph both.  I just switched out the dress for a skirt, and changed tops.  The rest is the same.  (and I had a wonderful time being with my beautiful girlfriend, as always).

Threads - A Hint of Roses >>>

Yesterday I wore one of the dresses my mom made when she was younger than me. One of my alltime favorite pieces in my whole closet.  The floral pattern is just so precious mixed with the black.  I layered with this lovely grey mesh sweater top from Modcloth, some leggings, and you know, my favorite new Blowfish sandals, the Sea Dreams.  I also wore two rings gifted by two very dear girls in my life, Julie & Hillary.  And one of my Roots and Feathers necklaces.  This was such a comfy outfit and still felt a little dressed up to go out for the day in.  My favorite mix.

That beautiful brown velvet ring, opens up to a hidden solid perfume compartment!  Is that not freakin amazing???

PEACE,
Laura

Daily Threads - Layers >>>

Can I just say, Ive been loving my Modcloth sweater! Ive been layering it with everything lately. Simply one of my favorite colors.  Almost everytime I have styled this cream chiffon dress James got me from Urban Outfitters a few years back, I end up loving the outfit.  The little pop of pretty just makes me feel nice.  I love dressing in the fall/winter time.  I love layering and I love tights.  I could wear tights just about everyday!  Or should I say leggings, whatever, I love them.  And my Blowfish boots just seem to go with everything!  Today is the last day to enter the Blowfish giveaway to win a pair of any Blowfish shoes of your choice!!!  Ill be announcing the winner in the next day or so.  <<< if you havent noticed, yes this girl loves clothes. :)

Ill be back later with why I had such an awesome day yesterday!  I wanted to pee my pants with excitement almost all day!

PEACE,
Laura

Modcloth saved the day >>>

The day before yesterday I had a super girly moment.  It was the morning after a long day of not feeling so great and alot of general sluggishness...  While drinking my coffee I remembered these super cute things I just received from Modcloth, but then quickly realized I had absolutely no reason to get dressed up.  All I was going to be doing was packaging orders and going to the post office that day.  Then... I remembered that it shouldn't matter.  I work from home - which equates to long days spent in pjs alot of the time... and I also remembered a friend telling me a long time ago, that it helped her productivity (she also worked at home) to get dressed for the day, even if she was just going to be home.  And it worked!  After I did this fun photoshoot, I was ready to go for the day.  No more lounging around with my coffee in hand scouring the internet.  It was a great reminder that you dont have to be going somewhere to have an excuse to dress up and feel cute.  And by the way, I had wayyyy too much fun with the amazing lighting coming through my window, so there are alot more photos than usual in this one!  So... if you are ever feeling sluggish while trying to work at home, try this trick and see if it works!  A half hour spent getting fixed up could result in lots of productivity that makes up for it!

This lovely doll was handmade by my Nanna.  I just adore her.  I just realized I have yet to name her.  I thank an appropriate name would be Olive.  So.... meet Olive :)

After I was done playing girly girly dress up, I didnt want to walk around my house all day in heels, so I threw on some shorts and cons.  I thought this could show you a super easy way to transform an outfit from day to night, or vice versa.  Do you ever go on dates and by the end of the night wish you just had some tennis shoes to throw on?  This is the perfect solution.

Speaking of which, I think its time for to go get dressed for the day again!  Ive got lots to do :)
