AENON'S NATURAL INDIE FACIAL CLEANSERS

via rootsandfeathers.com

Over the past few years I have been on the hunt for the perfect facial routine.  One that is all natural, doesn't dry my face out, and actually makes me feel cleansed.  I have tried so many, and have been left disappointed so many times.  Last year I began using facial oil from my friend Nicole at Pure Soul Holistics, and I fell in love.  So when I was introduced to Aenon's cleansing series I was immediately interested b/c it also uses oils as its base.

All of the herbs & essential oils used in this series are among my favorite smells... Calendula, Lavender, Hibiscus... Yes!  The cleanser smells so good and leaves your face feeling so soft.  The first time I used it I was worried that it was an oily feeling, but after a few uses, and after towel drying I realized it was just that it made my face feel so soft, and kept all the natural oils in instead of stripping them away like I'm used to with most face washes.  This Aloe + Calendula cleanser is soap-free!  Ive been using it everyday for a few weeks now, and I'm officially hooked.

Lavender is probably one of my favorite smells on the planet.  I put Lavender essential oil on my pillow every night before I drift off to sleep.  It is so soothing to me.  I think it reminds me of my mother.  So needless to say, I'm in love with the Lavender facial toner.  I love the way it feels to spritz something cool on my face, especially after a hot shower, which is where I normally wash my face.  It smells so good, and dries within a minute before you apply the oil.  They have more than one finishing oil.  I am using the Lotus + Hibiscus oil.  It only takes 2-3 small drops on your fingertips to spread on your entire face.  It absorbs quickly leaving your skin feeling smooth & soft.  It does not leave your face oily, even after applying makeup.

I'm hooked.  I have a few other handmade natural products I have found recently that I like to use once a week or twice a month that I will share soon.  I'd love to know what natural products you love using on your skin.  It has taken me years and years to find things that work with my skin, that I love the smell of, and that actually feel like they work.

Oh, and one of my favorite things about the AEnon's products is that the labels are waterproof.  One thing I hate to is to get a beautiful product and have the label bleed the first time I touch it with wet hands.

DATE NIGHT WITH MYSELF

Date night with myself via rootsandfeathers.com

I love it when I get to work with a brand who is truly making a difference in the world through their company.  I was recently contacted by the International Princess Project to share their Slumber Party campaign to promote awareness for sex trafficking in India.  They have given women who have been victims of the sex trade an opportunity to support themselves with better than fair wages, and to heal in body and spirit and to live in freedom through creating jobs for them making Punjammies out of Indian fabrics.  Some of these women have had to endure years of being slaved and mistreated.  Many of the women have been kidnapped or lured by empty promises of jobs, or even sold by their own families, some even being children.  It breaks my heart that this is even a reality for so many.  It is such a beautiful thing to have a company like this dedicated to creating new lives for these women and bring hope into themselves for a better future for them and their children and future generations.  I wish I could personally go over there and give the woman who made my pjs a big hug... but from my little corner of the world, I can share this message and this company with you, and through that more people can be reached and make a bigger impact.

I don't talk alot on here about these things, but any kind of sexual abuse has always been something heavy on my heart.  It happens far too often, and the effects of it can linger for generations.  You can read more about the International Princess Project here.

I remember the first time I heard about Punjammies was from my friend Katelyn a few years ago and when she told me what they were all about I fell in love.

They teamed up with Prosperity Candles, a company who helps women from regions of conflict rebuild their lives, and LVX, a vegan nail polish company, to create a fun little slumber party.  My slumber party was a date night with myself (and obviously Bella)...

I love date nights with myself.  They don't happen that often, but I really do enjoy them when they do happen.  I made myself a cozy little reading nook by the window, made a whiskey sour, enjoyed the aroma of the handmade candle, painted my nails, read my book and my birthchart, and hung out with bella.  It doesn't take much to make a good date night for me!

OPAL & WONDER

Opal & Wonder Candles

I'm smitten over these beautiful candles from Opal & Wonder.  I love the glass tumbler they are poured in, that are actually re-usable once your candle has burned all the way down.  And they are 100% natural soy.  I got the Peacemaker & Wild Nomad.  I just love the names she has given them.  The peacemaker is such a calming scent, and the Wild Nomad smells yummy almost like my husband's cologne.  (mmmmm)

I'm so happy to be sharing more of my love for Danmala Teas here today.  A while back I did an ayruvedic consult with her and she created me a custom tea blend for my personal body type and it blew me away with how beautiful and yummy it was, plus I learned alot about my body through the process.  This time, Lindsey sent me a bundle of goodies to try out, and I am over the moon in love with them all.  First of all, lets just talk about how wonderful her packaging is!!!  I love the photo she took of her tea in the astrology tea cup, and then used it for her tea tags!  So genius if you ask me!  All of her extra special touches in her packaging just make you feel like you are receiving so much love.

It is almost unreal how beautiful her teas are... Makes you almost not want to use them b/c they just look so pretty in the little tins... But they are equally as yummy, so its worth it!  My favorite right now is the Moon Nectar blend.

This Lovers tincture is what I was originally after... it was crafted in a very small batch of only a few bottles.  It is meant to be blended in with your teas but it is just as good taken straight.  Reminds me of elderberry syrup which is a favorite around our house.  Ive been showing myself some serious self love with this, the rose quartz and this yummy handmade soap.

Follow Lindsay on Facebook to get updates on things that she makes in small batches like this!

Ive been drinking her teas in one of my favorite mugs I got from an art student at a local art fair, with a dash of milk and honey.  THIS makes tea a sacred ritual.  Especially when taken with intention and quiet time.
