JAMESTOWN REVIVAL
A little over a month ago James surprised me with tickets to see Jamestown Revival at Sam Burger Joint. Needless to say I was one happy girl, and it was hard to wait a month for it to roll around. I actually just heard about them a few months ago. I think they played on one of my pandora stations and everytime I heard one of their songs I loved it. A few weeks ago James downloaded the digital version of their album and Ive been listening to it almost daily since.
They were so good live. So fucking good. I couldn't stop thinking about the show for two days straight afterwards. Ive seen alot of really good live shows in my life, including Neil Young, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Steve Earle, Willie Nelson, etc... and I enjoyed this show just as much as any of those. I'm sure these guys are going to explode at some point, so it was really great to see them while they are still a but less known b/c it was a great intimate show. They told funny jokes and talked a bit about what each song was about, which I love when seeing a show. Getting more of the back story always makes things a bit more real and intimate. We got a chance to talk to the guys after the show and they were the NICEST folks around. Seriously nice guys.
I was happy to walk away with the physical copy of the album, which is adorable and looks like a mini vinyl. I really wanted to get the vinyl too but I couldn't afford it all! I did snag this rad guys tee though which I won't lie, I wore 3 days in a row when I got home b/c its sooooo comfy.
It was the best date night. The best surprise. A great show. I really really really hope they come back to San Antonio on their next tour. I will go see these talented Texas native boys any day.
