a lifestyle blog of the designer Laura Mazurek of Roots and Feathers
Welcome, I’m Laura.
This is my little corner of the internet where beauty gets to be slow again. I’m intentionally calling back the spirit of the old blogging days, when the internet felt more like a handmade journal, or a letter passed between friends. I’m here for that nostalgia, a slower pace, a place to make meaning out of what we are living through right now.
I am an artist living in the Texas Hill Country, and I’m drawn to the kinds of things that carry the character of time or the presence of the natural world. I’m the one picking up weathered sticks, stones, feathers and bones and bringing them back to my nest. My walls are filled with treasures of the earth and passed down items that outlived my loved ones.
My current creativity lives in two different offerings: Roots & Feathers, my handmade shop where I create earthy one-of-a-kind jewelry, home decor and upcycled clothing… and Sacred Sun Sister, my curated talisman jewelry line inspired by my love of nature, symbolism and the everyday sacred.
In this space you’ll find blog posts sharing my life, my creations, poetry, photography, reflections + musings, playlists and whatever feels like a pull from within to be shared. My desire is to come back to a time when the internet felt like a cozy circle of women sitting around a fire alchemizing our hearts through art, beauty and lifting one another up. Do you remember those days? I do, and I miss them.
Will you sit by the fire with me? Pull out a blanket, grab your favorite cuppa and stay as long as you like.
