THREADS - CORAL MOON

This was what I wore the other night on my date with my bestie.  Ive been on an Obella Organics kick lately, and this skirt is no exception.  Betsy's color palette is so beautiful, and each piece she makes is soooo comfortable.  I cannot wait to watch her collection grow.  And this handmade clutch from Bird Trouble was the most perfect combo with the color of the skirt!  This is the first clutch Ive ever owned.  Ive always been afraid I would leave my purse somewhere if it was a clutch, b/c Im so used to having a strap around me, but so far, Ive been good!!  And even though Im so ready for fall and just want to start wearings boots, I need to squeeze in as much sandal time as I still can.  These blowfish sandals are still some of my favorites.  They are starting to get in some amazing boots for winter though!!  And... the body chain is a new piece for Roots and Feathers, coming soon.  Its been a while since Ive made one.  I have soooo many new things to list.  Im starting to get re-inspired, after feeling a huge lull for a long time.  I think the cooler weather may have brought with it a touch of my creative spirit back.  Thank you winds of change.

(for those who will ask, the tank was thrifted and the rings are from f21)

These were taken in my backyard next to my little garden box with plumbego and pomegranate bush.  I cut all of my tomato plants back and my herbs, and they are all starting to rebush and look beautiful again after so much texas heat this summer.  Its time to start planting a fall garden.  Its the perfect weather to get outside and play.  This morning while I was talking on the phone to my nanna, there were four hummingbirds buzzing around my head, playing with each other.  It was so cute.  I love how they are not afraid to get super close to you.  Amazing little creatures.

Just a little outfit post from the other day when we went to Kerrville.  I love having jeans for more than 10 years.  They get perfectly worn in, and kind of just feel like home when you put them on.  Even though my weight has fluxuated during the past 10 years (there was a time these would fall off, and there was a time they were too tight)... I still kept them, among many of my favorites, and Im so glad I did.  When I go through periods like that, Ill just pack up my favorites and still them in the garage for a while.  Then when I dig them out later, its like having all new clothes again!  And, if Im having an unwashed messy hair day, this is my go to hat.  I love this hat.  The beautiful trim necklace is from Bohemiantown on etsy :)

P.S. for all of you Blowfish Shoes addicts out there, they are having a massive sale through the 8th.  30% off everything, plus free shipping!  On top of their already drastically cut prices on many of the styles.  You cant beat it!  And today is Moorea Seal's sale on Fab.com!!!

PEACE,
Laura

Yesterday was another jeans and tee day...but just by having your tee be a fun PPP one, instantly makes your outfit feel not so drab.  I sent this plain olive tee to Shauna, along with amazing fabric you see on the sleeves (it was a funky old vintage dress I found at goodwill, but I adored the pattern).  She does amazing custom work... so look at your old t's in a new way and send them over to her!  Look in her shop, she has 51 different kinds of customs!!!  Holy Smokes!  She also just revamped her blog and it really fits her style now.  I also love wearing my O Bella Organics headwraps like a messy turban.  She just came out with a beautiful new circle scarf.  I just love her simple style and amazing colors...  In with my necklace mix is a blue beaded one from Nanoutriko.  Another great artist.  You can get 15% off anything in her shop this month with the code VBAPRIL12 at checkout.  I have one of her marbled tiedye headbands and its soooo wonderful!
{I love supporting my friends}

A Simple Way to Dress up Jeans >>>

I put together the perfect outfit the other day. By simply layering a sheer top (forever21) over a simple tank (Skyline Fever) and jeans outfit, it went from being kind of boring to just the right amount of comfort and style in one. And actually was even more comfy then just the jeans and tank b/c Im not much of a tank girl most of the time. So the kimono top was an extra layering of sheer comfort. Paired with my Blowfish flats = perfection. I really really enjoy the process of putting outfits together. I always have. And when you find something that just works on every level for yourself, that is golden!  I wore my Nanoukiko necklace again, which is the least amount of jewelry Ive worn in a long time.  Every now and then I love to just let one simple piece stand out.  I think this will be my go to outfit when Im in a funk and need some comfort but still want to feel good.  Ive had these jeans for about 10 years now and still love them!
*because I get asked alot -- the curtains are from World Market and the macrame owl was thrifted*

Do you have a go to outfit that is your comfort???  Oh, and speaking of Blowfish shoes, you should check out my last post to see some of their amazing new styles!!  You can get this print above in a wedge now!  Holy moly!
