Top 5 Friday

Today's TOP 5 FRIDAY comes from  Heather over at Ramblings From The Animal House...

Top 5 Favorite things in my home:
(this one was hard to narrow down, and I kept changing my mind, so Im sure this list could go on and on...)

1. The things my mother handmade.  Each one of these things is equally meaningful to me... the top left also has a quilt my aunt crocheted... the top right sun quilt was made by my mother when she was in her twenties...and I think the crazy quilt on the bottom right was also.  That one is unfinished, but I love it soooooo... The bottom left is a kaliedescope she made for Tiffany's, and is what sparked the seed of her business making Broken China Jewelry.  It tells a story in glass and china.  If there was a fire in the house, these would be the things I would grab. (besides my pets of course)

2.our babies.  and yes, I make the bed everyday so they can all be together.  And I sleep with the two matching teddy bears.

3. I adore my vintage velvet sewing chair, which was scored during a thrifting date for $10!

4.Moon, my mannequin.  Ive had her since I was about 14.  She is always changing her looks.  She used to do craft shows with me.  She used to pose nude up at the restaurant I worked at!  She fell in love with a mysterious artist once.  She has had quite the life, and I will take her with me anywhere I go.  (I mean, if I move, not like driving in the car with me all buckled up!  ha ha, if that starts to happen, someone please stop me!)

5. My photos on my fridge.  I love seeing my mommies face right in the center of all of my favorite peeps.  I love changing all the photos out from time to time.  It just fills my kitchen with life and memories.

Im going to need some more suggestions for my Top 5 Fridays soon, this is an interactive blog feature that comes directly from you guys!  So head on over to this post, and add your question.  Please read the questions before yours to make sure you are not asking the same ones :)

Top 5 Friday

Today's Top 5 Friday comes from Brina of Rose Colored Glasses.

Her question was my top 5 movie quotes... I switched it up a bit to trailers b/c Im not a big quote person.  There are many I love, but out of context, they just dont sound as good.  So Im leaving you with trailers to 5 of my favorite movies.  This was a hard decision b/c I have lots of other movies I love just as much as these...

Amelie... I adore everthing about this move.  Audrey Tatou is just about the most precious actress.  I love the colors, the story, the music, the feel, the language, everything about this film.
Youve Got Mail... my all time favorite feel good movie.  I just love Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks, and together they are just adorable.  I think I have this whole movie memorized.  Seriously.  Love it.
Rushmore... I love each and every Wes Anderson movie.  I love the simplicity of his movies, the way he directs, his visual imagery is superb.  He always uses the best music made just for his movies, and re-uses interesting characters throughout all of his movies.  Top favorite director... one of them at least.
Pulp Fiction... a long time favorite.  one that never goes out of style.  Quentin Tarentino is my other favorite director.  Love everything he does.
My Neighbor Totoro... my favorite Hayao Miyazaki movie.  Again, I love everything he touches.  Favorite japanese animator, story teller, director, everything.  This is a magical movie that will make you fall in love with wonder and adventure.  I recommend seeing all of his movies.

Enjoy!  Most of you have probably already seen all of these, if not, go watch them!

Top 5 Friday

(i was about 15 here)

Todays Top 5 question comes from Jodie of Scattered Thoughts!

1. That all of the things I thought were 'wrong' or made me 'unhappy' were just silly compared to real life heartache and situations.  (although they felt VERY real at the time)... Had I have had more real life situations to compare to, I might not have been so selfish or whatever I was at 15!

2. To just say no to drugs!  ha ha, sounds cliche, but so true.

3. That to love someone selflessly is so much more rewarding then to love selfishly.

4. That some people really are in your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime.  Not all friends and lovers are meant to be forever - some are just here for some of our most important lessons to be learned.  And to not carry the weight of it all on my shoulders when one has to leave or you have to let go of one.

5. That time really is valuable.  You really dont know how long you have, or how long someone close to you has here on this earth.  To not take people and life situations for granted, and to try to see the beauty in every situation, even the most painful ones, because there IS beauty in all of it if you just look.

I would love to hear some of your things you wish you knew when you were 15!  Great question!

Top 5 Friday

Todays top 5 comes from Mountain Girl Clothing!
Her question was: What are you top 5 favorite things to see out of a window?

1. The Moon
most nights I can see the moon out of my kitchen window
 2. The open road
one of our favorite things in the world is to just drive, anywhere, no goal, just driving around
 3. Violet soaking up the wind
it is quite possibly one of the cutest things ive ever seen, gets me everytime
 4. Anything Bella sees
bellas pillow is by the window i work at everyday, so i love seeing everything she sees, especially when its a stray kitty or a deer
 5. Sunlight through nature
i cant drive anywhere without being enamored by the way the sun hits grass, trees, etc.  especially white fluffy grass, or dead grass.  makes my heart throb.
(i cant believe i had photos for all of them!)

Thanks Margaret, that was an awesome question!!!
