Can it be my birthday week again?  Please?  I kind of wasnt ready for it to end.  Although, since I have such awesome friends, they decided that we will have a re-do birthday party since I had a migraine!  Woo hoo!  I was so sad I couldn't hula hoop or dance at all at my party, especially when my sweet sweet friend Jen surprised me with a light up mood hoop!!  I can't wait to try to get some awesome photos with it.  I was sooo shocked when she gave it to me.

The day after my party, on my actual birthday, James and I went to The Bijou to watch Wes Anderson's new film Moonrise Kingdom.  So so good.  Go watch it.  I have never been disappointed by him.  And speaking of things to watch, James got me a Studio Ghibli movie collection!  Im so excited.  Its been a few years since I have seen Totoro, and I have yet to see the newest Arrietty.  I cant wait to watch all of the ones Ive seen and the new ones as well.

I feel like Im being pulled in several different directions right now playing catch up in my business.  Still working on a huge order for ShopRuche.com, a few small wholesale orders, photographing new stock for the shop, and a custom order detailed patchwork jacket.  All of which are equally important.  So... I will just keep steadily going until it is done... And by that time, I will for sure have a new list.  That is just how it goes.  But I am soooo thankful that it is, the alternative would not be good.

I have so many things I want to share... so Ill be back as often as I can over the next few days...

PEACE,
Laura

First, lets start with these doors, because they are just about the raddest thing.  Since we have been in our new house, we had them by the front door, which was cool... but it just didnt really show them off.  And Ive always wanted to do outfit pics by them, and couldnt because of where they were placed.  Yesterday I got the idea to move them onto our back porch, against our railing... one for prettyness, and two for a little privacy fence of sorts for our porch... since we can see into our neighbors yard from it.  So, Im revamping my porch, yet again, and Im loving it.  I couldn't wait to do an outfit post as soon as they got up, so here we are!  And... my hubby is on a marathon of brownie awards this week...  He came home yesterday and I was sitting on the back porch eating my lunch... and said to him that I wanted to move the doors out there (knowing this might freak out his darling OCD mind not knowing where they were going or how they would look)... he went back inside, and I thought he was making himself lunch.  A few minutes later, I find him scooting the doors along the living room floor with a towel (these babies are megaaaa heavy).  It was the sweetest thing.  Then he proceeded to sweep and clean the whole front of the house where they were.  He has been quietly doing sweet things like this all week, or more.

Speaking of sweet things he has done... see these adorable orange sandals below???  We were at Target the other day and I spotted them, and realized they were exactly like the sandals I have of my moms (that are kind of falling apart and too big for me, but I wear them anyway)... but of course, orange.  I fell in love... but walked away b/c I didn't want to spend the money.  He demanded that I go back and get them b/c they reminded me of my mom and he wanted me to have them.  So, of course, I listened.  A girl knows when to accept!  Although in the end, it was a win win situation, b/c I had a gift card (that I didnt know how much was on it), and it was just enough to get me these sandals and this cute top without spending a dime.

Oh, and since I thought I was going out last night on a date with my bestie (got rescheduled), I did the twist my hair up while its wet thing early in the day and let it sit for hours... and my hair got so wavy!  I love it!!!  I think Im hooked on this super easy do.  Maybe next time Ill take pics of the process to show you just how easy it is.   And.... as I mentioned in my last post, I gave myself a mani-pedi yesterday.  I never paint my nails and toes the same color... honestly it feels kind of silly, but I loved all the color going on yesterday!  So different than my norm, but still felt so me.  I basically loved this outfit and felt so good in it.  So comfy.

Threads - Feather Dress >>>

Im here today with a sweet spring outfit. Still loving this inbetween seasonal time... before everyone in Texas just wants to start ripping their clothes off b/c its sooo hot!  I got this cute feather dress from my friend's closet sale a while back, I think it is just darling.

I know Ive had way more outfit posts than usual lately and that I havent had as many 'real' posts, ones where I share my heart about the real stuff in life.  My soul is in a spring season right.  I feel like Im going right along the medicine wheel without even giving any thought to it, just living it.  My mind and hands are very active right now.  I feel like this winter I planted lots of seeds in my soul to keep me on a path of healing, and right now my healing is in doing what I love to the fullest.  Im working behind the scenes passionately on a huge project, one that involves alot of creative energy, alot of people, and one Im just bursting to share with you!  But Im also realizing that great things take time, and although Im usually one to just bust something out when I get on fire and then throw it out there in the world to take as it is... this one is one I want to make sure is just right before I throw it out there.  Its one that wont just affect me, but hopefully tons and tons of people.  So... while you may just being seeing lots of cute outfits, random pics from my phone, and things I eat, ha ha, there is so much more going on in the background.  And honestly, my soul is ever so grateful to be in the state of creation, and not one of just pure longing and searching.  Im setting that aside, and allowing other things to grow, right along with the flowers of spring.  Before we know it, they will all be gone, and will be replaced with burnt grass from the sun shining so brightly.  So while we are in this gentle spring, Im sailing right along with you, mother nature.  So much we can learn from this great healer.

Threads - Black & Brown >>>

Last night we went out with some friends to first friday.  Its been a few years since Ive been.  We saw some interesting art.  I have to admit, Im a bit of an art snob, so it takes alot to really get me excited...  Not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing.  Then we walked the streets with lots of other random strangers and enjoyed the sights and the little pit stops of people playing music and selling their wears out of the front yards.  In the middle of this big group of people selling your typical street art things, there was a beauty of a girl selling very lovely vintage finds.  I was impressed with the style of things she had found.  Although as badly as I wanted to, I could not buy anything... (we are in a bit of a financial downtime right now due to taxes).  But we had a great time with my bestie and her twin.  Im so glad we went.

My outfit last night was probably one of the most 'me' feeling outfits Ive ever put together.  I dont wear black very often at all b/c of my two adorable fluffy white babies.  They get hair all over everything.  But some things are just a must have, like this black hi low maxi skirt.  I just have to carry a lint roller in my purse, ha ha!
