PIECES OF HOME

Today's Pieces of Home I broke out my big guns camera.  Most of this series are from random shots Ive taken with my iphone throughout my days.  But I walked past my window the other day and the light shining through it was pure magic, I could not pass up taking a moment to capture it.  I watch this space throughout the day, and love how it changes feeling as the day goes on.  There are moments when the light shines harshly through and drowns out parts of what you see and cast other parts deep in the dark shadows.  The there are times when the sun is barely coming through the windows and the whole corner falls into a shadowy place.  Then the sun shifts and begins to peek through the other window and casts filtered sparkles all over everything.  My favorite is when the sun starts to peek through the curtains.  I love the way the light hits the fringe and the lace.  And since I put twinkle lights up in this window, my other favorite time is at night, when its all lit up by nothing but tons of little twinkles of light.  It is so magical.

James and I have been kicking around the idea of moving within the next couple of years, and this space in this house will be the most missed.  It has changed so many times over the past 3 years and has truly become my favorite spot.  I hope that whatever home we may find in the future, that it has a special window space where the lights hits it just right again.  I have been compiling a list of all the elements of my 'dream home', and this is definitely on that list.  It also includes a huge beautiful Magonlia tree.  A girl can dream, right?  I make no bones about getting specific with my dreams.  And I am pretty damn good dreamer.  I think I spend the majority of my time in my head dreaming actually.  It's a big part of my personality... la la land.

Oh, and this beautiful paper mache moon has transformed this window to a whole new level enchantment.  For those who will ask, I found it in a thrift store in Wimberley.  I might say its the best thrift find I have ever found.
