We just printed a fresh batch of our Wild Boheme tees, and since I did this photoshoot last week, it felt like the perfect time to share a Skyline Fever outfit post. Our slouchy tees are hands down my favorite in the whole shop. They are so very soft + cozy + easy to wear. I sleep in one almost every night, where them around the house as pj’s, and of course where them styled in various ways throughout my days. I love that you can wear them off the shoulder, but you don’t have to. You can tie them in a front, back or side knot, They are super cute with a Tan France french tuck like I have it styled here. They are slouchy enough to lay over your favorite thermal in the winter, and soft + light enough in the summer with your favorite cut offs. Need I go on?

I styled it here with some yummy distressed boyfriend jeans + strappy sandels I found on Thred Up. Have you shopped there yet? If not, you are missing out. It’s an online second hand shop where you can find tons of name brand items with majorly slashed prices. I’d say 80% of my wardrobe come from there that is not handmade. I have found almost all of my Free People there for next to nothing compared to their original prices. If you don’t mind the thrill of the hunt, it’s amazing! If you haven’t made a purchase from them yet, I have a link where you can get $10 off your first purchase! SHOP HERE

This beautiful hat was a recent find at World Market + I tied one of my favorite Kantha Bae headwraps on it to fancy it up a bit! She just restocked headwraps, so there are bunch of beautiful ones available right now!

Ever wonder how I take pics of myself with my dslr? I just use a tripod and hand held remote clicker. You can spy it one of these photos, ha ha! I usually just try to be creative with hiding one of my hands…

rise & rise again

We have created two different shirts, a cropped racerback tank that is super cute + flirty for spring/summer, and a slouchy tee that is so soft + perfect for every body type. We have also created a really fun bundle customized by some of Brooke’s favorite things. She loves my prayer flags + has several of them floating around her beautiful home, so we made a special one with the word RISE just for these bundles. We also made a bookmark, b/c Brooke is an avid reader. Just visit her IG @barefootfivehome for a hot minute and you will see. Her favorite crystal is Citrine, so I created some handmade citrine keychains you can adorn your keys or bags with. And last but not least is an essential oil roller with her favorite oil, Northern Lights Black Spruce. You will smell of the yummiest trees all day long!

These bundles are limited in stock with your choice of a tank or tee to go with it all!

We have also created a really awesome retro inspired print for your wall in some of the yummiest colors! These are made from post consumer recycled paper + soy ink.

I will share more about this soon, but in January we partnered with One Tree Planted, a non profit organization dedicated to reforestation. For every tee or print sold, we will have a tree planted for you. Just a little way we can give back to mama earth to balance out what we use to make our creations. We also use eco-friendly compostable packaging whenever possible.

JAMES BEAR

This morning I just wanted to share some photos of my boy.  After being married for 5+ years, I have shared that our marriage has had its ups and downs, trials, errors, etc... But it has also been filled with alot of love.  The kind of love you must closer into the small things to see through the ordinary.  As Im sure its the same way with many marriages.  When I look at the things he does for me, the ways he stands by my side, the way he learns to grow and open as I do, the way he cares for our animals, the way he takes a stand to take care of things he knows only hurts my heart, the way he wants me to be close to my friends and family, the way he cares for his own family, the way this 33 year old man still needs tender love and care from day to day to feel whole, the way he loves to learn about new things in the world, the way he cares for the less fortunate, the way he allows me to just be me even when he might think Im a bit crazy, the way he encourages me to take care of my well being, and so many other things... reminds me of why I love him.  He has grown so incredibly much since weve been together.  Looking back on the fear he held inside throughout our first two years, and visibly seeing it dissipate has been amazing to watch.  And in turn, watching my own fears lessen and turn into trust as well.  We all come into relationships with our pasts and baggage, and have to learn how to evolve side by side someone foreign, and its not always an easy task.  James and I are polar opposites in our natal birth charts.  And its very apparent in our day to day.  When I can take a step back and really look at how far we have come, and the things we have both learned from each other, I find it remarkable.  It's like taking two ingredients that sound like they would be absolutely horrific tasting in a dish together, and creating a magical meal that you can't even believe both of those ingredients were used.  Yep, kind of like that.  Like apples and bacon... he'd be the bacon ;)  And yeah, we look pretty darn cute together, eh?  I love you James.

p.s.  I love that he is wearing his Skyline Fever shirts in 6 out of 8 of these photos!

THREADS - VELVET & CROCHET

- outfit details -
hat + crochet vest // c/o chicwish
flowerchild tank // skyline fever
velvet bell bottoms // iconoclasp
bronze flats // blowfish shoes
braided crystal necklace // christi jay
quartz ring // moorea seal
chevron bracelet // f21

I can't stop wearing my velvet bell bottoms from Iconoclasp.  I could wear them everyday.  It's hard to believe Thanksgiving is just in a couple days.  I'm excited to see my family, and to roast some yummy root veggies... but I've also been a bit weary lately.  I definitely feel like my body is in a winter cocoon of sorts.  I've been in a state where I can cry at a wrong word used, or even a wrong look.  My emotional levy has broke, and it's opening me up to many different feelings.  I laid on the hammock for a few minutes the other day and a butterfly landed on my glasses, reminding me that this cocoon state I'm in is only preparing myself for something much more beautiful... but through this process, it hurts.  It is not easy transitioning.  Especially when its a kind of transition happening from within, one you cannot see, or put words to.  I take that back... I can put words to it.  Grief.  It's just that I thought by now it would be a little easier, but its only getting harder.  Part of that is my own doing, from not allowing myself to feel certain things that seemed unbareable to really feel.  I still don't want to feel them, but I know I must to truly heal through it.  A big gentle deep inhalation is needed on my part... followed with a long silent calming and grounding exhalation.  With my feet rooted in the earth, and my heart being guided from the spirits of my ancestors.  I need to allow myself to congratulate myself for the things I have accomplished, to celebrate them.  For so long now, I have not been doing this, and I think it has sucked some of the joy from the journey.  It's time to remind myself that I am worth that.  And that I am worth it to stop, regroup, realign the things in my life that need it.  To allow myself to let go of the things I no longer need in my heart, that I cling to.  And to know that it is okay to feel all of these feelings, even the depressing ones, so long as I do not remain dormant in them.  But, I must go through them, and not try to crabshell my way around them like I am so good at doing.  It is okay to cry.  It is okay to hurt.  It is okay to be angry.  It is okay.
