Sending My Love Floral Dress...

The day before mother's day, I received this beautiful dress c/o of Ruche in the mail.  It was so pretty and light feeling I couldnt wait to wear it.  It feels just as good on as it looks, it seriously feels like Im wearing a nighty its so comfy.  I love the details of it with the lace front, the waist tie and there are 3 precious buttons on the back.  So sweet and girly.  And a quick pull back of the bangs created a simple 70's hair style.  Makes me look more like my mother when I wear my hair like this.

And I painted my toenails for the first time in about 10 years.  I never paint them.  And I honestly cant decide if Im digging it or not.  Sure looks cute with those sandals though :)

We are hopefully about to get some rain here.  They keep telling us so at least.  I never believe it until I see it.

One Dress, Two Ways...

You know those days when you feel like you could change your outfit 10 times?  I hate those days, but inevitably we all get them, I think :)  And then there are the days you know what 'dress' you want to wear, but maybe its just the way you styled it that is making you want to change.  This was my day yesterday, so I decided to share how just a few simple changes can make a different look.

In both looks Im wearing one of my custom made Poor Pitiful Pearl dresses, which I adore.

Outfit One:

Now as cute as it may have been, I was in the mood to be super relaxed, so I threw off the belt, cardigan, shoes and hair wrap... let my hair down, and grabbed my cons and a shorter cardi.  It was kind of funny, I haven't pushed my bangs to the side in so long, it was the first time Id seen my forehead in months!

James mom gave me the sweet little butterfly necklace I am wearing, I love it so much.

So, although these were not major changes to the outfit, these little things can make all the difference in how you feel when you walk out the door.  So next time you are having one of 'those moments', maybe decide to change your shoes and your hair instead of the whole outfit.  It may save you alot of time and energy (from one girl to another).

Today I am joyfully preparing my house for my family to come visit for the first time since we moved in!  I cant believe today officially marks 3 weeks of being here!  It is really really starting to feel like home.  Yesterday I got my sewing room completely clean and ready to go!  So fun!

My Favorite Pinafore Jumper...

The other day I wore my adorable deer jumper.  It's still one of my favorite jumper's Ive ever made.  Not only is it so cute, it's soooo comfy.  And I love the relaxed feel of these jumpers when paired with a t-shirt and converse.

Yesterday afternoon was perfectly spent with two of our best friends, scouting out one of our river accesses in our new neighborhood.  I must go back down their with my camera.  It is way more amazing than I ever could have imagined.  It started of with a winding little rock step pathway leading down a cliff to the river.  One you get down there, there is a rock picnic table, a firepit and flat platform to hang out on.  And even a rope swing, even though the water is way too low for such fun yet!  We trucked down the river quite a ways and found some amazing cliffs.  I was so excited to see tons of swallows nests built on the cliffs!  I want to do a cool photoshoot there so bad.  The whole thing was beyond perfect.  And since its part of our community, it is not accessable to the public, so its super private!  A great day with friends.  And finally today we are seeing some much much needed rain!!!

Peices of My Mother All Around...

Yay!  I have my internet this morning until I go to get James today!  So, I get to share my first outfit post in the new house.  I am enamored with the natural light in this house.  I will be able to do all of my jewelry photography right here by this window without even leaving the house!  So excited.  No more waiting for the right weather or time of day to do it on the porch.

This is one of my favorite spots in the house.  This desk was my mother's and Im so happy it finally has a place to be shown off.  One of my favorite things.  My aunt (my mom's sister) told me while moving that it used to be in their bedroom when they were little girls, and my nanna had painted it hot pink!  And they hated it, ha ha!  My dad stripped it and refinished it, and my mom added the amber glass handles and now its one of the prettiest things ever.
