THREADS - HARVEST MOON

This outfit is the perfect blend of fall colors to me.  The mustard color of this skirt is one of my all time favorite colors.  Seasons and colors excite me!  I love the energetic powers they hold.

After posting tons of new goodies in my Roots and Feathers shop, today I will spend some time packaging up orders, and then cleaning up my space.  My studio is a WRECK.  A wreck.  Drives me nuts just walking in there right now.  Which means its time to re-organize and clear space for new work.  This is a constant thing I must do.  And I need to clean my home.  Constantly learning to find the balance of work, play, learning and cleaning.  My moon time always falls on the week of the new moon.  I find it an awesome thing that my body naturally goes through a few day period of heavy rest and re-set b/c of this, right before the new moon takes place, giving me a fresh surge of energy during this time.  

The universe has recently opened some new amazing opportunities for some of my closest friends, and my heart is just bubbling over with joy for them...  mmmmm...  AND... Im looking forward to a harvest moon date with a very special friend at the end of the month.  Namaste.

THREADS - CORAL MOON

This was what I wore the other night on my date with my bestie.  Ive been on an Obella Organics kick lately, and this skirt is no exception.  Betsy's color palette is so beautiful, and each piece she makes is soooo comfortable.  I cannot wait to watch her collection grow.  And this handmade clutch from Bird Trouble was the most perfect combo with the color of the skirt!  This is the first clutch Ive ever owned.  Ive always been afraid I would leave my purse somewhere if it was a clutch, b/c Im so used to having a strap around me, but so far, Ive been good!!  And even though Im so ready for fall and just want to start wearings boots, I need to squeeze in as much sandal time as I still can.  These blowfish sandals are still some of my favorites.  They are starting to get in some amazing boots for winter though!!  And... the body chain is a new piece for Roots and Feathers, coming soon.  Its been a while since Ive made one.  I have soooo many new things to list.  Im starting to get re-inspired, after feeling a huge lull for a long time.  I think the cooler weather may have brought with it a touch of my creative spirit back.  Thank you winds of change.

These were taken in my backyard next to my little garden box with plumbego and pomegranate bush.  I cut all of my tomato plants back and my herbs, and they are all starting to rebush and look beautiful again after so much texas heat this summer.  Its time to start planting a fall garden.  Its the perfect weather to get outside and play.  This morning while I was talking on the phone to my nanna, there were four hummingbirds buzzing around my head, playing with each other.  It was so cute.  I love how they are not afraid to get super close to you.  Amazing little creatures.

THREADS - RED RED WINE

This is what I wore the day of the blue moon, when I went to go visit my Nanna.  Im absolutely smitten with these wine suede booties from Lulu's.com.  So so in love.  They remind me of my mother and me combined.  I adorned them with one of the necklaces in my shop that I wore in the latest Bohemian Collective lookbook.  I also channeled my own owl medicine with this old tee after posting the first in a Luner Animal series on the Bohemian Collective blog.  I thought it was quite fitting.  Both tops are from Forever 21, and that awesome chevron ring is also from Lulu's.com.  And these awesome cords are from Threadsence.  It was the first time leaving the house this season that it felt cool enough to layer!  Im soooo ready for fall.  Even though its not quite here yet, Im saying hello to it, whispering sweet nothings into the air to it.  Oh yes, I have a deep affinity for fall.

Threads - Jumper + Kicks >>>

I had fun today with my outfit shoot.  It was the golden hour, and I was already done with my errands for the day, so I decided to take the time and play. It had been a while since Ive had a chance to do an outfit post in the evening time, so I took full advantage!  Oh, and I kind of cant believe how long my hair has grown!!

This outfit was pretty much just fun and cute.  I got this denim jumper a while back from Lost Boys & Lovers and realized I keep forgetting to break it out of the closet.  And Im starting to really see my obsession for the color brown.  I almost cant make an outfit without some brown in it.  I layered the jumper with one of my favorite little pieces from Whats Olivia Wearing, this little crochet top.  I can layer this baby over anything!  And this wide belt just came off of another dress I own.  The uh-mazing necklace is from Spiral Drift.  I dont think Ill ever get over how much I love her work.  A truly talented artist.  The fedora, seen on this blog a ton of times... is the only hat Ive ever had really, besides my beanies and such.  The first hat Ive ever found that I truly feel comfortable in... Its from Forever 21.  And last but definitely not least, my new kicks from Blowfish Shoes.  Wowsers these babies are adorable.  I can see these going with so much.  I cant wait to wear them in the fall with my skinnies and a sweater!

Yeah, that was alot of talk about clothes... geez.  But, I dooo adore them. 

Im excited to meet up with some of my parents old friends today for lunch.  Always good to visit with them.  Growing up, my parents had a big assortment of really amazing people in their life, and they all treated me like I was one of them.  I never felt like I couldnt be their friend or talk to them, just because they were my parents age.  They were always just my friends too.  So although it is bittersweet to come together with them without my parents being there too, its nice to reminisce with folks who shared the same love for them that I have. 

Also for the first time in a while yesterday, I was able to spend a little bit of time back in my studio!  So I have a brand new little something coming soon.  I may spend the time to make a few more before releasing them into the wild, but I love them!  Im feeling its time to dig in and work on new beauties.  Ive been feeling a little burned out after the big creative flow of the lookbook we just created... so the best remedy for that is to work on something entirely new!  Well see what happens.
