A blouse worth posting about...

 Today I had a special lunch planned with my family.  I really want to try to keep getting my family together more often then before.  After losing my dad so abruptly, it makes you realize that sometimes you never really know when goodbye is going to be.  So I rounded up my brother & his son, my nanna & her man, my aunt & her boys, and we went to eat some mexican food.  *food coma*...  soooo good.  I got the plate my mom used to always get, spinach enchiladas, yum!  And I wore the prettiest sheer hummingbird kimono blouse ever.  It made me feel so girly and feminine.  I paired it with a mustard tank, mustard high waisted shorts, a belt & some thrifted mocs.  I wish I had gotten some full body shots to show you just how cool this top really is.  The sleeves are amazing!  But I had to do some super quick shots before we left the house... (next time)
 One of my favorite parts of building an outfit is accessorizing...
cross-stitch leather belt - forever 21
mustard tank - forever 21
 high waisted shorts - forever 21
moccasins - thrifted
wooden hair clip - *unfinished Roots and Feathers piece*
nail polish - shimmery earth tone + sparkles

{i might have a slight obsession with Forever 21}
 see those pretty flowers in the background??? James surprised me with them yesterday!  More photos coming later, they are lovely!

 The gorgeous necklace from Dawn Will Break was a recent trade, and I must say, I am smitten.  I think this will become a staple through fall... she has adorable packaging to go along with it!

 I actually have a bunch of stuff that was suppose to go before this post, but my shirt was so pretty, I had to share now!  For the rest of the evening I am going to actually make myself have a 'weekend' day, and just sort of chill.  {i think}  maybe ill go craft, just for fun!  Im not sure.  Something other than work, my body needs a break.  I think everything (work, my emotions, stress) is all starting to build up in my shoulders in a big way this week.  Luckily I have a dear friend who offered to give me a massage this week, which I am sooooooo looking forward to.  Its been so long since Ive had one.  Ahhhhh.....

 PEACE,
Laura

Inspired by a color...

It has truly been too long since I have done one of my Makes My Heart Sing posts...  They were originally intended for Mondays... but Ive never been any good with sticking to a schedule.  So I think Ill bring them to the blog just whenever I feel inspired to do so.  This weeks post is inspired by...
Mustard has always been one of my favorite colors.  All of my favorites fall into the earthy or jewel tone categories.  So when the idea of autumn starts to roll around in my mind, these colors start flooding in.  Im slowly trying to build a new fall wardrobe as I can, and I keep gravitating towards this color.  Here is a collection of others who have further inspired this obsession.

{this adorable peacoat and flats worn in Indie Jane's wardrobe remix}

{this incredible chair that Lisa from Goodknits gets to relax in *sigh*}

{this lovely photo from Starr's blog A Thought Is The Blossom, on her post frocks & socks}

{love this band poster created by Paul X Johnson, read a great interview with them here}

{Speaking of The Civil Wars, I adore this photo of Joy Williams taken by Tec Petaja}

{this whole photo/home by Angi Welsch is perfect.  Im loving her photos.}

{how can you  not love this guitar pickin man??? image found here}

Ruche Pretties...

I know I have said several times how honored I am to be a part of such a beautiful site, but again, I truly am.  When Ruche first toom me on I had no idea that my jewelry would do so well.  Now it seems like everytime I check the site, something else is sold out.  I can hardly believe it time after time.  I truly feel like they have been one of the biggest blessings in my life and business.

Here are a few of the things on their site that I currently love.  There are so many though, and their prices are very reasonable compared to many sites.  And if you want to be taken away for a moment to a really pretty place, check out thier lookbooks, they are so dreamy.

You can find my jewelry on their site just by typing in Violet Bella in their search bar!

Ill share some pics later to give you a visual of how much really goes on behind the scenes here in my little house, besides what you see going into my etsy shop!

PEACE,
Laura
