MY WEEK + GIVEAWAY WINNERS

My week.  Let's back up all the way to last saturday.  I went out with my bestie for a date night to watch some local music... We had a great time, but little did I know that somewhere in that building was a little bug called influenza waiting to pounce on me.  At least I believe the culprit was residing there according to my timeline. 

Then monday, after yoga, I started to feel a little tickle in my throat that lasted all day.  Just a tiny one.  We went that night out to our friends house and by the time we left, I knew I was sick.  I thought at first it was major allergies from being out in the hills... but oh no!!!  By the time I woke up the next morning, full on flu.  And a high fever for the next few days, and you know you, all that goes along with that.  So.... there was a whole lot of this below for the whole rest of the week.

Then a few days later, James started to get it too... so just as I was coming out of my fever break, he was going into his and I needed to take care of him too.  It's been about 5 years since Ive had the flu, so I had conveniently forgotten how rough it is.  I'm sooooo happy we are both coming out of it.  I still feel exhausted and I'm having a hard time finding my energy, and still have a bit of a soar throat... but this I can handle.  And I'm so happy that we did not have to go to the doctor, and I fought the whole thing naturally. It's kind of weird though to wake up one day and realize youve spent an entire week in bed.

ATTACK OF THE SICKIES

Hello world... if you have wondered at all where I have been all week... weve all been doing a whole lot of this.  Resting.  Monday evening we went to some friends house.  When we arrived, I felt totally fine, and by the time we left, I felt sick.  Bam.  By the time we got home, I felt awful.  I thought it was just allergies from being out in the cedar... but by the next day I had a high fever, and that lasted through last night.  I'm feeling alot better today.  Not good, but able to function again!!!  Now my boy is sick in bed.  So sad he finally gets a vacation and he has to spend it with the flu.  No fun at all!  It's been so long since Ive run a fever I forgot how awful it feels.  I'm going to try my best to not over exert myself this weekend with catch up work so that it doesn't come back.  So anyone who has a custom flag coming their way, please just be a little extra patient?  Id be so grateful!

Speaking of being grateful... I'm very grateful that James was home while I was sick to take care of me.  And that he doesn't have to miss work b/c of him being sick.  And that I do have such understanding customers.  And that I can feel myself on the road to recovery.  And that I have the best mother in law in the world, who made two trips in one day just to bring us stuff.  I love her oh so much.  And for my group of friends who held me so close in their thoughts this week when I really needed some love.  And for having many many insights into my true self this week.  And for having a cozy place to call home.  And for being my own boss so I could just take off work to be sick.  So many things to be grateful for.

JAMES BIRTHDAY

Yesterday was this handsome boy's birthday.  He turned 34.  Each year Ive known him he has only grown more and more.  Its been an amazing thing to watch.  He supports me like no one else.  He dreams along side me.  He encourages me.  I only hope I do the same for him.

 Last night we celebrated at Fralo's, which has become our yearly tradition.  Best pizza around.  We got our favorite, the carmelized pear and procuitto.  We got together with some of our dearest friends, and some we haven't seen in years... And sadly some of our besties couldn't make it.  But we had a great time and everyone really enjoyed themselves. 

And his friend brought him the dvd Magic Mike as a silly gag gift.  It was so hilarious to watch James receive it and then try to hide it... ha ha.

I'm looking forward to eating leftover pizza today!  Yum.  I love it cold.  And I'm realllllly looking forward to tomorrow.  My friend is taking me to yoga and then to get a double massage with her!!  And my birth chart is waiting for me at the post office, so after learning another dose in patience, I get to dive into it.  So Ill be having one huge personal date tomorrow and I can't wait!  I keep pinching nerves in my next and shoulder blades and its so bad right now I can barely move my neck.  Ive had James rub it, soaked in epsom salt, use tons of essential oils... its whack.  I tell ya.  I hurts to sit and create anything in the studio longer than 5 mintues... so somethings gotta be done, and quick!

2012 FAVORITE POSTS

A collection of my favorite posts from this year.  I love looking back and seeing how things have changed and grown in one years time. 

1. Hitting our one year mark in our new home!  I love looking at these photos and seeing how things have changed so much already.

   2. Introducing The Bohemian Collective.  So amazing to see how far its come in less than a year!

3. Creating a sacred space with lots of intention.  The one place in my house I have not wanted to change around since creating it.

4. This post I wrote recalling my journey of the past few years up to that point.  Reading back on this now that it has been almost an entire year, I can see where my journey from there has lead me to here.  Love being able to look back on these places in my blog like this.

5. Getting my half sleeve finished!  And this is my favorite outfit post of the year. 

6. Saving this yellow billed cuckoo.  This little guy taught me alot and opened a new place in my heart.

7.  This was my favorite art piece I made all year long.  It was a custom for Alana of Run With The Tribe.  I feel honored that this hangs in her creative space.

8. I learned so much more about my relationship with James this year.  I loved this post where I talked about our spiritual differences.  This boy is so good to me!

9. My favorite diy project I did this year.  I upcycled these old shorts with the prettiest of patches and stitches.

10. Spending time with Robin was a big highlight of my year.  I only wish it happened more often!

11. Also being able to have a few visits from Katelyn!  And being able to take these beautiful portraits of her.  Im so glad we got some wonderful captures of her with her dreads since she recently shaved them all of!  Brave woman.

12. Releasing the Mystic Moon lookbook.  This was by far my favorite one weve created so far.  And it was so fun to have my friend Gina be a part of it!
