CREEK HIKE

076.JPG

The other day James and I took a break and went over to his parents and went for a hike in the creek.  This is where he grew up, his stomping grounds... Its a sacred place for him and I love being able to explore that with him.

We found so many trees with holes.  I have such a thing for trees with holes.  They are fascinating to me.  I took a pic of James with the creek behind him and the back of his families restaurant.

Its hard to tell in the photos above, but the little black spots in the water were turtles heads poking up.  I love that turtles teach the lesson of patience b/c you really do have to be patient to try and get a photo of one of these guys.  They are so sensitive to sound and movement and wont show themselves if they sense something out of the ordinary.  Even from as far away as I was...

I love this photo of James above so much.  This place has such magic in it.  We had quite an adventure after this relaxing part.  We were off to the side gathering sticks when to guys came running down to the creek, and they kind of freaked us out, so we hiked up the cliff real quick... to then realize we were on someone else's property and needed to hike back down.  It was a crazy dangerous hike back down where we chose to come down... And we found a opossum cave along the way!  We didn't realize that is what it was until we got home and could research the poop.  Yep, the poop.  All we saw was a crazy cave in the side of the cliff with a HUGE mound of odd looking poop underneath it.  I imagined all sorts of crazy things living in it while I had to scale the cliff across it.  (kind of really freaked me out).

We found lots of treasures... Including a huge opossum jaw set!  Way far away from the opossum home we found.  Ive had opossum come up for me alot this month, and for very good reasons.  If you missed it, Marissa shared about Opossum's in her latest Lunar Animal series on the boho blog.

It was a good escape with my boy.  I love these times with him so much.  My favorite.  I'm wishing I was out in the woods right now while I feel myself start to stress out about the fact I have yet to do my taxes.  Sigh... My goal was tomorrow, and it looks like Im not going to make that goal.  I need to find the focus to just sit and do it!!!!!!

Do any of you etsy sellers have any tax strategies or programs you use?  I signed up for one and never was able to figure out the website or get anyone from it to respond to me, after paying for it.  Bad choice.  I would love to find a program that imports all of your sales and expenses and figures up all your totals for you, so if you know of a good one, Id love to know! xo

CAMP MAGIC

047.JPG

Hello little blog.  How I have missed thee.  I had a little camping adventure this weekend, and upon my return, my computer was fried.  So there has been a little cyber world delay...  But here I am.  My sweet soul sister Robin came to stay the weekend with us.  It was the perfect combination of relaxation, exploration, soul excavation and magic.  I packed the essentials... you know... sunnies, lip balm, peppermint oil, birth chart and tarot.  What else could you need?  Just kidding, we had tons of blankets, pillows, a gallon of water and matches, oh, and strawberry beer, you know, essentials.  I used this gorgeous bag from Chicwish to carry it all in, and then I used to while hiking in the woods to gather sticks, stones and bones in.

We stayed out at my parents place for our camp out.  It was no less than pure magic.  After a hike through the woods we made a fire and sat around and talked and read up on the current moon magic going on.  My conversations with Robin are always so intimate and heart felt.  A true connection.  An almost unearthly connection.  James jokes about how we are twins, which is so funny because he dated her all through high school.  Im so so happy she is back in our lives.

Magic by the fire.  This is Robin and James, two extensions of my own heart.  After the fire we bundled up in our sleeping bags.  It was freezing.  By morning we all had frost on our blankets.  It was an almost full moon, so the night sky was lit up and glowing for us.  Throughout our sleep we could hear the calls of peacocks, turkeys and owls.  A magical woodland.  And awoke to doves and cardinals busily going about their mornings.  I did not want to leave.  My heart, body, mind and soul wants to be out there.  For the rest of my days.  It is my dream.

The day after, Robin loving on Bella.  We explored some deep dark avenues of ourselves with each other.  It feels so safe to have a friend who you can go so deep in the forest with, and not be afraid to be left alone, to navigate through the darkness.  Now if only we were able to see each other more than twice a year.  This has got to change.  And today, just three short days later, I have already received a hand written letter in the mail from this lovely.  See?  Amazing.  James better watch out or I may just fall for his ex girlfriend, haha.

GIFTS FROM NATURE

These are the beautiful things I found along the way during our nature walk the other day.  They were so pretty I had to lay them out and photograph them.  Now I can look back on these photos and always remember the spirit of that day.  I am taking in the Opossum and Pigeon medicine given to me.  Both strong feminine energies.  I'm looking forward to spending more time down there this summer.  I'd love to carve out times to just go and sit, maybe write or sketch.  Just be.

I'm grateful for these little reminders along the way.  Last week I had two more significant gifts from nature, a carnelian rock found at my parents house, and a bumblebee James found outside our house.  I'm listening and paying attention.  And I'm grateful for these gifts showing up when needed.

INSTAGRAM LOVE

Lately I have not quite felt myself.  Ive been feeling a bit more inward.  I think from being sick, its just taking me a little while to crawl back out of my little crab shell and back into the world.  But tomorrow that will change!  Ill be releasing the new

Bohemian Collective Mini Lookbook

!  Im so stoked.  Its like our big ones, but with just one look, and a bit more stripped down and simplified.  Even though its not quite as artistic as the others, I'm still really digging it, and looking forward to doing many more of these throughout the year.  So make sure to check the blog over there tomorrow!  The pic above is from the other afternoon when I went outside to draw.  Ive been doodling before bed every night, sort of as a meditation, but I got the urge before bed the other day, so I went with it.

And guess who joined me?  Ha ha.  I think this is MY FAVORITE photo Ive ever taken of her!  I want it blown up HUGE and framed on my wall.  I crack up everytime I look at it!  God I love this cat!

And when she got on top of the table to join me she showed me just how excited she was to be there!  Ha.  She couldn't help but just scream at the top of her lungs!

Then the next day she got herself stuck up in a tree.  She is allowed to hang out in the backyard by herself with Violet whenever she wants.  Its fenced in and big enough for her to roam around at free will.  (although lately she has been sneaking under the fence, little rascal!)  But yesterday I heard Violet barking, so I went to go check to see what it was at (make sure it wasn't a snake), and I saw two big labs running around outside the fence.  And I couldn't find Bella anywhere.  I was looking all in the woods, on all sides of the house, etc... Until finally I looked up!  I never expected her to be in a tree b/c she doesn't have front claws, so tree climbing is not really her thing.  But I'm proud to say she doesn't let that stop her in a time of need!  She was actually pretty relaxed up there and wanted to stay there for a bit before coming down.  She rubbed her mouth all over the branches up there. (she likes to rub her mouth on all sorts of things).  Then finally she let me get her down.  A little adventurous day for this little lady!

Mmmm... is this not the pretty record youve ever seen?  I just love Donovan.  I have the silliest memories of me and my friend Justin in junior high listening to Donovan, especially the Intergalactic Laxative song.  We thought it was the best thing in the world!  And I still love listening to him...

Last night's beautiful Leo Aquarius moon was amazing.  It was soooo bright I could barely look at it like usual.  Oh and I had a hard time sleeping last night too, I felt so much energy.  A sweet sweet (9 year old) friend of mine gifted me a huge amethyst quartz cluster, so I put it out last night to charge under this beautiful moon.  It is so beautiful and something Ill treasure forever.  She was so sweet to give it to me!
