Blue Velvet + Chevron Stripes >>>

The day before yesterday was an elaborately set up plan to get our friend Jonny into a music store to pick out a guitar.  We have been planning this for a long long time.  James really feels like he owes it to him for getting him back into his passions of playing guitar more, so this was his way of thanking him.  So we, and Jonny's sister and friend all went in together to make this dream come true.  We told him we were taking him out for pizza and had a few errands to run, including picking up some strings at the guitar store.  The traffic was so crazy b/c of christmas, it ended up being an alllll day affair, but so worth it!  He went home with a lovely acoustic bass guitar!  We LOVE you Jonny!  I cant wait for the boys to jam in James new band room!!!

And you know me, all crazy about my threads, I got to wear my blue velvet pants from Threadsence!  So in love.  I used to have a pair of blue velvet bell bottoms in high school but they got trashed, so these are like part nostalgic for me, but in a more modern cut.  And... I totally forgot that you can fold your Blowfish boots down!!!  So I wore them as tennies.  My favorite Skyline Fever tank paired with a chevron striped tunic from Ross.  And as always topped off with my Moorea Seal and Flourish bracelets.

Today I baked about 6 dozen cookies, and prepped for more tomorrow.  I also built my first fire by myself and kept it going almost all day long.  Tomorrow will be equally filled with baking and visiting with James family.  Is tomorrow really christmas eve?  My vacation is officially half over and I have a feeling its going to go by fast with so much going on...

PEACE,
Laura

James Update + Daily Threads >>>

On thursday James had his doctor appointment with a new neurologist since his old one retired. We were very nervous about this, one b/c we loved his old doctor and just knew he couldnt be replaced, and two you never know what might change. For those of you who read the post about his meds awhile back and are wondering what happened with it all... We are still in limbo but its looking very good. He has been on the generic now for about 5 weeks or so and has been doing fine. There has been a bit more fatigue, stuttering and confusion, but its hard to say if its the meds or his stress. We ended up LOVING his new doctor. She is a gem from what we can tell. Super thorough, very sweet and seemed to have alot of previous experience with patients on this particular drug. We are about to get his blood levels tested to really be able to tell if the medicine is doing what it is suppose to, then we can rest assured from there. If so, not only will we not have to worry about the drug going up to $800 a month, we wont even have to pay the usual $65 a month, it will only be $5! Hallelujah!  We should know all of this within the next 2 weeks.

And for those of you just dying to know what I wore to the doctor's office, ha ha, here ya go!  I snagged this shirt from James' shop.  Its one of the first ones we made and no one has bought it yet, so, well its mine now!  You snooze you lose!  I was so excited its was cold enough outside to finally wear my knitted scarf I got as a gift a while back from the lovely Tiffany of That Girl Crochet.  She picked the perfect color for me!

Coffee Date Threads >>>

Over the weekend we went to one of our favorite coffee shops since we had to run a few errands.  I always love having an excuse to go get coffee at a special place.  While getting dressed I can across this cute plaid headband I had forgotten about!  Its super cute and reversable, the other side has vintage flowers.  Its been so long since I got it, I honestly dont remember where its from.  And since I got my new glasses from GlassesUSA.com, I have not taken them off.  Im pretty much in love.  I wore my favorite Skyline Fever tank, my favorite yellow cords from Threadsence, a necklace from my Roots and Feathers shop and of course my thrifted mocs.  With a little green cardi I picked up at goodwill.

If anyone is looking to get some new glasses, if you buy them from my refer a friend link youll get $30 off your first pair!

I love it when we are both wearing our glasses!  James just got new glasses recently too, and I adore them on him.  He picked out the perfect ones for himself!!  So so cute this boy is!

Today, I am diligently working on getting orders out.  Its seems as soon as I get caught up, they flood back in!  Which is truly amazing, but keeping me on my toes for sure.  I cant believe today is the last day of the month!  Holy moly!  Its been a busy busy week with work, then tomorrow, the dentist (yuck) and the next day court (yuck)!  Court is for stuff with my daddy's property, dont worry, I didnt get in trouble :)
