A Simple Way to Dress up Jeans >>>

I put together the perfect outfit the other day. By simply layering a sheer top (forever21) over a simple tank (Skyline Fever) and jeans outfit, it went from being kind of boring to just the right amount of comfort and style in one. And actually was even more comfy then just the jeans and tank b/c Im not much of a tank girl most of the time. So the kimono top was an extra layering of sheer comfort. Paired with my Blowfish flats = perfection. I really really enjoy the process of putting outfits together. I always have. And when you find something that just works on every level for yourself, that is golden!  I wore my Nanoukiko necklace again, which is the least amount of jewelry Ive worn in a long time.  Every now and then I love to just let one simple piece stand out.  I think this will be my go to outfit when Im in a funk and need some comfort but still want to feel good.  Ive had these jeans for about 10 years now and still love them!
*because I get asked alot -- the curtains are from World Market and the macrame owl was thrifted*

Do you have a go to outfit that is your comfort???  Oh, and speaking of Blowfish shoes, you should check out my last post to see some of their amazing new styles!!  You can get this print above in a wedge now!  Holy moly!

One Day at a Time >>>

Week one of the new year down.  Id say it was a good start, releasing my new lookbook and collection for Roots and Feathers.  And we launched our new design for Skyline Fever, and are hoping to raise money and awareness for a good cause through it.  (Thank you to those of you who left suggestions, Im looking into all of them).  I spent this weekend getting mostly caught up on custom orders.  I went to my first garage sale in almost a year I think and saw my bestie!  I did some yoga today, and cleaned some house.   And Ive read a bunch of Wayne Dyer's Your Sacred Self and Im thoroughly enjoying it.

Im beginning to feel a bit sluggish after all of that.  Realizing still the things I must accomplish soon, I feel myself growing tired just thinking about it.  One. day. at. a. time.

New Skyline Fever in honor of my dad >>>

As many of you know from reading my blog, my father decided to take his own life this past year.  A little while back, I designed my next tattoo in his honor.  I drew up this handsaw, one that he had made himself, since he was a woodworker.  James and I decided to make it our next Skyline Fever design as well in honor of my dad.  He loved that James was doing his own thing creatively with his shirts, so I think its only appropriate.  He would of loved it.  We have decided to donate $5 for every one of these shirts sold to a suicide prevention foundation.  We are still researching which one, so if you know of any please let us know.  Until we decide, we will just set aside the money from each sale, and then send it in once we have decided.  All sizes are now listed in his shop.  James also created a facebook fanpage for his Skyline Fever shirts if you want to stay posted on what is new, you should follow him :)

P.S.  I cannot thank you enough for all of the love on my new lookbook.  It was a joy to create!  Thank you.

PEACE,
Laura
