Threads - Spring Songbird >>>

Thank you so much for all the love on my last photo post. It meant alot to me since it was such an emotional one for me. It was one of those days where I was not overwhelmed with the kind of sadness that just brings you to tears... but more just missing her and wanting to express that. And the best way I know to express things is through my art. So, thank you.

This is what I wore the rest of that day.  I love this part of spring, where its hot enough to wear shorts and sandals, but still a bit cool enough to wear layers and not just have your clothes stick to you in the heat.  One of my favorite times of year.  And this kimono top has proven to still be one of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe, along with the crochet fringe vest.  I find myself wearing them with so many different things.  Ive been working on some new feather earrings for Roots and Feathers, and this lovely one Im wearing below is already off to a new loving home, and is probably my alltime favorite one so far!  There are two more listed right now, but many more to come.  Ill be spending some time with my Nanna this weekend, so shop updates and work will temporarily be put on hold. (along with blog posts)...

Im so excited to share today's outfit post!  This shirt has been a week in the making since I didnt have time to do it all at once.  I was inspired by Jill's tutorial here, but used another method.  I cant find the original source now, but it was a simple tutorial on how to use glue.  I started off with a plain white shirt, wrote my Joni Mitchell lyrics with the glue, let it dry a few days (only b/c I was busy), then dyed it with rit dye with an ombre effect.  I love the peachy color it came out.  Then I cut the tee to make it cute with a hi-low rise on the bottom, scoop neck and tulip sleeves.  My new favorite summer shirt, and I want to make a million of them now!  Id love to have a shirt making party with some friends!  Im going to try Jill's bleach method next on a black shirt!

Moorea Seal has made me fall madly in love with these earrings of hers!  I love the 3D look.  They are so modern but still feel so feminine.  Simple perfection! ...And I used one of my favorite O Bella Organics headwraps as a belt with this outfit... LOVE.  Such a versatile little piece.  This one is the plum colored one.

I am still in my highly inspired spring mode.  Behind the scenes Ive been working on alot.  I have a super rad collaborative project in the works, Im still busting out new pretties for Ruche and Threadsence, Ive made some adorable dreamcatchers going to good homes (and want to make more for the shop soon), I made some new things yesterday that just make me want to squeal, and have two new styling invitations that Im very thrilled about coming soon.  This is why I love spring.  Although I tend to get so into what Im doing I can miss out on the fun life outdoors.  Which means if the project will be okay outside, then I need to take it on my porch to work on it!

Other exciting news is that James wants to start going to yoga!  So we are planning on going to my alltime favorite evening classes by my oh so adored yoga teacher.  Ive had to miss about 7 weeks of yoga class now since we only have one car.  Im so thrilled he is finding interest in it.  Ive always wanted to do yoga together, I hope it really happens.

Time to go get busy, and listen to some good tunes and daydream while I do.

PEACE,
Laura

Threads - Tee Pee & Flowers >>>

Yesterday we spent easter day with James parents. It was such a good day. We went to Fredricksburg to see the wildflower farm. The flowers were so so pretty. Then we went to Luckenbach and had a beer while we watched some singer songwriters strum their guitars.  The weather was perfect all day, not too hot.  I took lots of photos, so Im seperating the outfit from the day.  Ill post fun pics of the wildflower farm next.

I recently got this floral dress from my friends garage sale.  Along with my alltime favorite Skyline Fever shirt.  I love how easy this top is to layer with so many different looks.  Comfiest shirt in my closet.  I snuck Bella in some pics below.  She was hanging out by me when I was taking pics, so I scooped her up for some shots.  It might not of made her day, but it sure made mine!  By the way, this is the best way to wear your hair when you havent washed it in three days...  Just fyi.

It's almost officially spring here and there have still been days to get all bundled up in jackets and beanies.  Then of course, since its Texas, the very next day will feel like summer.  I was excited to squeeze in one more beanie day b/c I just love them so.  This gorgeous mustard pom pom beanie is from Softspoken.  A while back I did a photoshoot for her and she now has the images up in her shop, so you can browse through and see pics of me sporting her goods!!!  It was such a fun shoot, Ill share more images on here soon now that she has them released.  This super rad necklace is from Bohemiantown.  You may remember me wearing it here.  Vicki, the designer, is such a sweet soul.  This amazing forest green velvet hooded jacket is from the 60's and Ive had it in my closet since I was about 15.  Adore this jacket.  My sweet friend Hillary, since you asked a while back what brand these jeans are, they are Level 99.  The inside waistline is lined with roosters, how fun is that???  And these utterly amazing sandals are my newest loves c/o Blowfish Shoes.  You can find them here.  I love how they are a mix of earthy bohemian with modern design.  Perfection.  Blowfish has so many killer shoes out right now.  They just keep blowing themselves out of the water with each new collection.  Many of you know the depth of my love for Moorea Seal... Im still loving this arrowhead ring of hers.  She has some lovely colors stocked in her shop right now.

Tomorrow Ill be flying to Dallas (Rain, Ill be so close) for Sabe's funeral.  Its going to be a long day.  It will be so sad, but nice to meet more of his family and friends that we had not met yet.  Im really hoping I feel all better by tonite.  The past two days Ive been battling a soar throat.  It hasnt come on full blown b/c Ive been doctoring myself, but it is sure trying!  I really dont want to get anyone else sick and I cant miss this funeral....  Ill have some prescheduled posts here on the blog, so keep checking back.

PEACE,
Laura
