Lulu's sent me these boots to style up for my Halloween costume, and I didn't realize how much I would love them in my everyday wear too.  I kind of feel like a badass in them, ha ha... which anyone who knows me can tell you I barely have a badass bone in my body, although at times I wish I did.  And you may just be seeing these jeans in almost every outfit post for a while b/c I really have been living in them.  My aunt got me this vest last year... she has good taste, huh?  This top, Ive had for several years now and I love how versatile it is.  I wear it alot unbuttoned and over other shirts.  I have a thing for sheer flowy tops (I think I get that from my mom), and this charcoal color!!  Such a good color.  I know I have already worn and shown this necklace several times on the blog, but I have decided it fits perfectly into a new collection I am working on inspired by my home state, Texas, so I am saving it for the lookbook.  But if anyone wants to custom order one before hand just email me!

I am sooooooo freakin inspired right now about this new line.  It's still Roots and Feathers, and very much so... Anyone who has been following my creative arts for sometime now knows I get inspired about a certain thing and then it sticks for a while!  Last season it was mermaids and seashells... now, its Texas.  Ive been so inspired by the view out of my window on long drives, and by texas music.  I have always listened to Steve Earle, but lately I can't seem to take it out of my player.  All I can think about right now is where I want to shoot the lookbook, how I want it to look, wishing I had the right model or photographer for it, etc.  My brain gets consumed, literally, when I get inspired like this.  I'm forcing myself to get my other obligations done in between creating.

Speaking of, I need to go get to work!  Much love!!!

So, lets just talk about this kimono for a minute.  I'm so so in love.  Its so pretty and lightweight and feminine.  The cut is absolutely perfect, the sleeves have just the right bell to them.  In love.  I will be wearing this baby seasonally.  Sadly this beautiful print is currently sold out, BUT Frolic Apparel has so many new pretties, and is continually creating beauties with new prints, so no need to worry.  My current favorite kimono she has is this beautiful black and white feather print one that is longer, oh my.  Jess knows how to pick fabrics!  Speaking of fabric, I kind of freaked out when I saw she started making bell bottoms, especially in this absolutely knock out print!  Somehow I only recently stumbled across her shop after she was featured in one of etsy's daily emails.  I immediately emailed her to tell her how beautiful her work was, and we found out quickly we had a mutual friend in common, Kinsey from Sincerely, Kinsey, is one of her best friends!  She had seen my blog through Kinsey, so it was a rad first connection (something I love about the arts community).  Through just a few emails I can already say Jess is a sweetheart and I can absolutely see how they are great friends.

I wore this outfit the other night to see my friend who is in town from California... except by the time 7 rolled around its was freezing and I had to change out the kimono for a cozy sweater and I threw on my cowgirl boots just b/c we were meeting up at a local cowboy bar in Bandera and I thought it would be fun(ny).  She is actually coming over tonite for a sleepover!  I'm excited to chill with her, drink some Maker's mark and show her some Portlandia episode's b/c somehow she has not seen them!!!  By the way, you should check her out b/c she interview a ton of really amazing bands on her website, Christie Gee.

First of all, yes, I wear these leggings all the time!  They are so cozy and they go with everything, in my mind at least.  Something about fall and winter just makes me want to be all cozy!  And speaking of cozy, omg, these boots!  I almost didnt get them b/c I thought Texas didnt get cold enough to wear fuzzy boots, and oh my I was wrong.  Ive been wearing them around the house all week b/c they are so snuggly on my bare feet!  Im so so so in love with them.  I dont even have to use my hands to put them on!  They just slip on my feet, so rad!  (talk about lazy)

Speaking of cozy, I get in a big sweater rut in cold weather, so I thought I'd go for a jacket and Im so glad I did.  This one is extra comfy and I love the leather detail.  And of course I love this long sleeve snuggly sun and moon tee.  Fall makes me so happy with clothes.  My favorite time to dress!

Its crazy that we are already half way through November and we havent had one freeze yet here in Texas.  I think one is coming soon though.  We have already been building fires in our fireplace, and it smells so good.

P.S. DID YOU SEE THERE IS A NEW AWESOME GIVEAWAY UP???

This outfit is from a few weeks ago... I got this fringe tank from Chicwish and it was bright white, so I decided to do a little sprucing up with it.  I dyed it with a splatter affect all over it and then dip dyed the fringe.  The top fabric did not take the dye and it just faded to a soft pink, which I actually ended up liking, with just the ends darker.  It was a simple afternoon project and now this top feels much more at home in my closet.  Sometimes you have to look at pieces with an open mind when picking them out.

And I found these skinny jeans on the sale rack at AE a few weeks ago while we were cologne hunting for James, and I have hardly taken them off since.  They are so comfortable!  And it always makes me happy to only pay $18 for a pair of $70 jeans!  This is actually the first pair of jeans I have bought that are not from goodwill in a few years.

These darling little shoes were gifted to me from my bestie years and years ago and I still love them.  And the two necklaces are precious to me b/c they are both made with love from two amazing women.

p.s. I love how my blog reminds me alot of my conversations with my friend Shelley.  One minute we are talking shoes and hair styles and the next we are pouring our hearts out with deep emotion.  It's so nice to have a balance.
