Today is James 35th birthday!  I love that he still looks like he is 25, oh so handsome!  Last night we went to our favorite pizza joint, Fralo's.  It is his birthday tradition now.  We didn't think many people were going to make it but it unexpectedly ended up being a full table of good friends, new and old.  It was a great night with great people and great food.  Can't ask for more than that!  I got him this cute tshirt for his bday of one of his favorite bands, By Surprise.  His first yellow shirt.  I think he pulls it off well!

What I wore to his birthday dinner... I love wearing this dress so much.  My mom hand sewed it for herself when she was much younger than me, I'm thinking around her early 20's when she was pregnant with my brother.  I thought it looked so cute with this sweater, although I ended up ditching it for a lighter sweater b/c it ended up not being nearly as cold as I thought it was going to be last night.  We stopped by target after dinner and by the time we got in the car to go home I was stripping off my sweater, boots and socks as fast as I could!  Although James was next to me shivering, but we are always opposites in body temp. 

I have a feeling today is going to be a nice lazy sunday for James birthday.  We have a fire going in the fireplace, so the house is all warm and snuggly...

I am so in love with this outfit.  It was comfy, casual, a bit feminine and really allowed this beautiful necklace to be the star.  I'm completely head over heels for this necklace.  Ive been waiting to feature it in an outfit post b/c it is going to be a part of an upcoming lookbook for The Bohemian Collective, but I just couldn't wait any longer.  It is such a statement piece.  And it comes in different colors/styles in her shop! 

This little crochet top I picked up at F21 when Katelyn was down last and Ive been waiting for spring to wear the crap out of it, like I somehow forgot all about layering!  No more forgetting now!!!  I love being able to transition pieces in my closet through all seasons to get as much use out of them as I can.

Last but not least, I have to talk about these boots!  They are soooooooooo perfectly me.  Love.  Sadly they are sold out at Lulu's, but keep an eye out b/c many times they restock best sellers!  They do have tons of other really cute boots though, and they are having a 40% off sale items right now plus free shipping!  (love my friends over at lulus)

So today is New Year's Eve.  A very introspective day for many as we begin to really think about what we want to change in our lives for the new year.  Not everyone makes resolutions, but most people do at least think about what transpired through the past year and what they would like to do differently in the next.  I know I do.  2013 really felt like a healing year for me, which means there was a lot of turmoil and heavy emotions that had to be gone through to really see the other side of things.  I feel like I truly did have to feel all of those emotions to be able to do that.  I know alot of it is not over, but I feel a huge weight has left my body this past month.  Some real releasing happened and it has made my heart feel so free and open to new ideas.  It's almost like a switch has been turned on all of a sudden that I previously couldn't find in the dark. 

I would love to thank all of my readers for the amazing year you have shown me through all of your loving and caring comments.  You have been such a support system to me through the years and this last one was no exception.  I feel like I have formed some of the deepest relationships thus far this past year with some of you.  Let's keep connecting in such a real way in 2014.  Namaste!

It is not too often you will see me in such a bright color!  As silly as this shirt is, I just thought it was too cute to pass up, and decided to try a little something different than my usual.  It's like a silky chiffon, so its super lightweight and comfy.  Pretty sure Ill be wearing it alot more this next summer with some cut offs.

These two accessories, the ring and necklace, are two of my favorites.  The ring was custom made for me by Katie of Star Native.  I'm so in love with her work, and just her in general.  Same for the necklace from Sun & Glory.  Annie is one of the sweetest and I could wear any piece in her collection anytime!  Love it all. 

These boots from Minnetonka are going to be featured in my new Roots & Feathers lookbook collections, but I have been wearing them in my everyday wear alot since they arrived.  I love that they are called the Bandera boot, since that is where I live!  The perfect bootie.  These babies are limited edition and will be taken off the shelves soon, just a head ups!  They also come in brown (mmmmmmm).  I can honestly say I think they are the most sexy boot Ive ever seen.

I hope everyone enjoyed the winter solstice yesterday.  I spent the majority of the day with all of the lights off, cleaning house by window light.  It was very calming.  Then last night I did my own little fire ceremony with some deep releasing and a few tarot spreads, breaking in my sweet new cards my friend Marissa sent me. 

Today my family is coming to spend some time at my house for the holiday season.  I'm so excited to have them here.  James is cooking a pasta dish for him, so that will be a first!  And then I get to see them all again 3 days later for christmas!!!

Everytime I wear this shirt I have to title the post after a Doors song, I can't help it.  And I will say it again, why did I wait so long to realize I could take outfit photos in this area of my house.  I love the lighting!  This is where I shot the last Bohemian Collective lookbook too.  Especially now that I pulled the table out from the wall, which was just going to be for the holidays, but I love it so much, I think its permanent.  Well, permanent for me means at least a few months!  Nothing is permanent in my house.  The arrangement I mean. 

I am finally get caught up on holiday orders.  Ive been working behind the scenes on my new lookbook for Roots and Feathers.  I have two more outfits to shoot and I'm done.  Normally I try to knock out tons of shoots in one day, but this one has been broken up into several different shoots and locations, seven total.  My goal originally was to have it released by the 15th, but as you can see that did not happen.  I must always remember how life gets in the way of these things, especially the holiday season!  I'm almost thinking of releasing them one look at a time... What do you think of that idea???  Maybe a new look every few days over the next 2 weeks.
