PRINT ON PRINT // MATERNITY STYLE

via rootsandfeathers.com

I'm in love with this little outfit.  I love mixing print on print.  We had some errands to run in town the other day, one of which included returning something to a store at the mall, one place I really don't love going to... and it wasn't until getting out of the car and feeling big gusts of wind I realized I might be flashing alot people in this little mini dress!  I literally had to walk around holding the sides of my dress down the whole time.  I hate when something looks perfectly fine in the mirror only to find out later it's not.  Next time I wear this dress while I'm still pregnant, I'll definitely be wearing tights or something under it!  But I did buy it b/c it's roomy enough to grown through my whole pregnancy in, and with spring & summer coming up, I'm going to want to start ditching my sweaters and pants soon.

I shot this outfit within a day or so of reaching the 20 week mark in pregnancy, half way through!  It's so crazy how fast it's going by.  In just 4+ months I will be holding my own sweet baby in my arms.  It still blows my mind every single day.  I dreamt about her last night.  She was so precious and so feminine looking, with blue eyes and dirty light brown hair, a huge wanderment in her eyes and such a happy, giggly demeanor.  I can't wait to see what she will look like and be like.  I feel her rolling around in my tummy everyday now, sometimes a little, sometimes all day long.  I feel her right now as I'm typing.  Ive been working on getting our spare room cleaned out to be turned into her room, and Ive been making things for her room too.  The process of creating something just for her is so unlike when I'm just creating to sell or for the fun of it.  It's been a really cool experience.  I'll share what Ive been making on here soon.  I really want to be in this space more and update this transition in my life, it just hasn't quite happened so far.  But that's totally okay.  When I have time and feel like posting I will, when I don't, I simply won't.  I'm not stressing over any of this kind of stuff anymore.  It's just not that important.

Around the time I found out I was pregnant at about 5 weeks, I began to really feel the first trimester symptoms hit me.  By week 6, they were full on.  All day nausea and extreme fatigue, and my goals instantly shifted from what is on my to do list today to what can I eat and how can I keep myself from throwing up.  It was literally a morning to night challenge and all I could focus on for a while.  Luckily that transitioned into I'm just so tired, but it still completely put my life otherwise on hold, for several weeks.  Now that I'm starting to get back to normal, I'm going through all the things that just lingered on my to do list, and other promises I had made before even knowing I was pregnant, that I never even got to.  It's pretty damn overwhelming to say the least, and my email inbox has over 4,000 unread emails in it, luckily alot of junk mail, but tons of unanswered real emails, from real people, that I feel bad Ive left hanging.  So slowly I am going to weed through these tasks until hopefully one day I'll get caught up so my mind can rest easy through the rest of this pregnancy.  So, if you are waiting for a response from me, whether in email, IG, fb, etc... please be super patient with me.  It's a huge chunk to chew on after being out of it for so many weeks.

So, here is an outfit post I shot about 2 months ago, before I chopped all my hair off!  It was getting so long, and even though I regretted it the first few weeks, I'm now so happy I did.  It's so much healthier and so much easier to deal with right now that I'm not washing it nearly as much as I did before.  It's been a nice change, refreshing.

This top from dir69 is insane!  The handsewn details of the cowrie shells on the sleeves, what?  It's just a very unique piece, unlike anything else in my closet.  And yes, I know my pants are wrinkled as hell, I just didn't care.  These free people pants are some of my favs.  I have them in two different patterns.  I found these on ebay for about 1/4 of the original price.  That's how I roll with FP.

Even though fall is my favorite season, I'm really ready for spring this year since I'm pregnant.  I'm ready to spend my days outdoors, soaking up the earth and sunshine, gardening, walking, etc.  I cannot wait.  I feel like I'm waking up from my own hibernation, and now we are going into winter.  Ive been feeling really house bound lately.  But this season shall pass, and I will work on enjoying it as much as I can while its here...

So my absence in this space grew bigger than I thought it would this month.  But I can happily announce that I finished the magazine!  It's being uploaded for print and should be released in the next two weeks for sale!  I'm so excited to be done and get it out in the world.  It's been an intense 4 months of working on it, this one took me longer than the last two.  After this one I'm going to take a little break from the mag for a while and focus on other things for a bit.  I won't be saying goodbye, just giving it a rest for a bit.  This one tapped me out and I think it's time to recenter myself and pick up in places that have suffered these last few months b/c of it... for example this blog, and the boho blog, my home and daily chores, skyline fever, and a few other things.

I was going to have the mag printed through a different company this time, and be the one to physically ship them out myself, but last minute yesterday I had a little freak out and realized I just don't want to go there yet.  I'm not ready.  I want to make that transition in the future b/c I will be able to offer the magazine for a little less than I can now, but there will be alot that goes into that change, and at this moment in my life I realized I needed to say no, keep it simple, and let someone else handle the check outs, and the shipping and customer service.  My email inbox was so full that I wasn't able to receive or send emails this weekend.  It's time for a change.  And if you have followed me on instagram at all, this isn't the only aspect of my life I am putting change into.  It's happening from all angles.  Once I get some more free time I'll be able to get more into it all here on the blog.  I have lots to share!

On to this cute outfit.  I look like I'm 14 here, I know.  Ha ha.  But these bell bottoms are so freakin rad!  I sent my favorite little cutoffs over to Shauna of Poor Pitiful Pearl and she turned them into these!!!!  My 15 year old heart would of died if I had these in my wardrobe then!  I adore them.  She can do the same for you with any of your cutoffs!!!  I love how she recycles so many fabrics, nothing goes to waste.  Most of the jeans she revamps get turned into bloomers, so instead of throwing out the bottom part after cutting them off, she uses them for scraps for these!  Perfect!

And James and I decided to put our Love Wild design on another tank.  I love my red tee.  When we first got them in I wasn't sure I was going to b/c red is one of my least favorite colors, and believe it or not, that tee is probably one of the most worn tees in my whole closet.  I adore it.  So, why not make it in a tank too?  It's now available in the shop!  And we made a sale section too and added a few items we are going to discontinue making after they sell out!  More coming soon!

OUTFIT DETAILS: dress - ppla // bra - free people // necklace - wandering bones // leather bracelets - oli rose collection // labradorite ring - bella & chloe // booties - chicwish // dreamcatcher - of the wolves

Hello babes!  New Moon, Monday, A New Day.  I have been super off with my blogging lately b/c life has filled me up between working on the magazine and personal stuff.  After having one of the worst migraines of my life the other day, I really got serious about looking deeper into some health issues that have been concerning me for a while.  I am taking action through diet & lifestyle changes, and made an appointment for a whole body checkup and to talk to my doctor about getting a full panel blood work done up.  I spent a day pretty stressed out about it all, but I feel like I'm taking the appropriate road and will keep on this journey to total wellness one day at a time through making the correct choices for myself.  I feel like this journey started about a year ago with my breakdown of realizing I was working too hard and needed to find more balance in my life.  I feel like I have really found that over the course of the past year, but now it's time to focus on other internal issues, while still keeping that balance of work and rest.  So though I may not being showing up to my blog as much as I'd like, and I have fallen way behind on collaborations and commitments I have made to many people, hopefully everyone will understand.  It will all get done in right timing, I'm sure of it.  Same with the magazine.  If it takes me a little longer than I want to get it out, so be it.  I'm not willing to throw my health out of balance for anything right now.  I'm taking it very seriously this time around.

As for this lovely outfit, I'm super sad this dress isn't available anymore bc it's so wildly comfy, but ppla has lots of other cute & cozy attire.  Same with these booties... Ive had them for a few years now and still love them.  The gorgeous necklace from wandering bones & leather jewelry from oli rose is still available though!

This little corner of my home is still my favorite nook.  I love the lighting that comes through the window.  It's now Banjo's favorite spot too.  He sits by the windowsill and looks out at the birds and bugs.  He loves it a night when the bugs come out on the window.  This windowsill is full of old bottles, crystals and knick knacks and he is so good about knocking things over.  I'm really surprised by this actually!  He is growing and changing so much.  We are so wildly crazy about him!!!  I'll have to share an update about him soon.

I'm hoping I can find a new balance and check in here more often that I have been... but if not, you know why.  xoxo
