New Threads and such

Today, I have literally spent about 8 hours sitting in this chair on the computer. Mostly because i was editing and posting new items to etsy, but also out of sheer laziness. its like once i sit for so long, it is so hard to motivate myself to get up and move! But i finally forced myself. I got up and cleaned the whole house! That felt good. But now, here i am again. I didnt make a thing today! oh well, tomorrow...

I just walked outside to grab some spinach from the garden and the sky is such a beautiful deep blue and the moon is the perfect sliver, one of my favorite kinds. just a few stars in the sky, and the sillouettes of the trees are all illuminated from the moon. such a beautiful night. wish james was home. maybe we can go on a wet bike ride when he gets home, if it is not raining like crazy. today the sun actually came out. but it has been raining for 4 days straight now, so the ground is still a soggy mush, but oh my are the plants and grass loving it. i wish so badly i would have put my garden in already, man would it be happy! My chard is as tall as violet now!

These two photos I thought were awesome, showing just how well Violet Bella and Pennythreads go together! I mean hello?

Weenie Roasting with Friends today :)

On this quiet and dreary day today, I will be hanging out at my dad's house with my closest friends, enjoying weenie roasting and good conversation. Hopefully we wont get rained out... I am so happy to have a mini get together at my dad's house, it will be the first since my mom passes away over 2 years ago. I have been overjoyed to be here for my dad and help him clean and fix up. I love him so much. I think he is going to give a little Raku pottery demonstration!

Anyway, I just wanted to show off my new beauties, I am quite happy and excited about this first one! It is part of the new spring collection that I have called "Patchwork Folk". Each one will be one of a kind and perfectly unique. This has to be one of my favorites so far.

You can see more samples in one of my later posts in the Spring Collection Lookbook video!!! My friend Shelley called me 3 days later to tell me she couldnt stop thinking about how comfortable the shirt was that she wore, now that is a great compliment! Hope you enjoy!

And two new pillow case tops. Only the blue one is in the shop so far...

Click here on this mini etsy to go to the shop and see more pics of these shirts!

I hope everyone has a wonderful day today! Make the most of it!

April Brings Cleanliness and Crafting :)

Again, I feel like I have neglected my little blog world. But from this and my last post, you can see that I have just been busy...

Today Bella and Violet are at the vet, getting their shots and getting groomed. I should be able to go pick them up anytime now, I cant wait. I hate when they are gone all day. I actually miss my little Bella walking in front of me back and forth, swishing her tail in my face, while I am trying to type :) Everytime they come home from getting a bath they look like they lost 10 pounds, its so cute! And good timing for them to need to go, because Shauna (from Poor Pitiful Pearl) and her family are coming on saturday to get their pictures taken!

Speaking of, I am so excited!!! I am anxious to finally meet her! Hopefully we will have great weather and all. Renea from Pennythreads is going to come as well, so it will be a mini blog gathering!!! so excited!

I have set all creating aside today for some spring cleaning. Isnt it funny how the weather changing outside can make you feel like cleaning out? Something about renewal and freshness comes along with spring. The birth of little flower buds everywhere, the sun shining, but not blistering, the winds gently stirring the fallen leaves around (and pollen)... All I want to do is ride bikes and have picnics!!! I am serious!

For those of you who actually read this, I am going to just ramble on...

(now I want to listen to Led Zeppelin :)

We have another tent party planned for the end of the month. We are on our 3rd month in a row now! Scrabble time! James just got the cutest shirt from Threadless, it has a scrabble hand with all x, v, z's, its so funny! Its perfect for him because he has yet to win a game with me, and now he has the sad scrabble loser tee shirt to prove it, ha ha!

Also on the agenda for April is to work some more on our tattoos! This excites me so much. My sleeve has been unfinished for well over a year now. It was suppose to only be a few weeks after I started, but one thing after another happens and now here we are, a year later! So ready to finish it! James is adding a butterfly to his sleeve. He eventually wants to do the whole arm, so I think he is going to do one thing at a time from now on.

Okay, so now on to the updates!

I forgot to post these next to garments the other day. This white dress I was going to keep, but I decided to go ahead and let it go, it is up in the shop! I call it my Tulip dress because of the way the vintage linens come together...

Custom Favorite Tee Shirt

Hi Lovelies...

So I told you before that I was going to share the custom order I made, but I wanted to wait until she got it so I didnt spoil anything for her. Well, she got it, and loves it! So I can share with you now!!!

{Thank you so much Nikki!!!}

She sent me a box with this old tee shirt from a trip to the coast, and random other garments to cut up and use throughout the piece. It was a fun challenge and I love how it turned out. It turned an otherwise ordinary over sized tee shirt into a one of a kind fun girly shirt. And now she can proudly say she has something special of 'her own', since it was made from her own stash.

I also wanted to note for those of you that think Violet Bella clothing is just for the teeny tiny girls, not so, this was a size large, its hard to tell with it hanging on the mannequin, but it was!

Here are a few of my personal shirts to show you how different each one can be...
this purple shirt was one of my mom's over sized frilly shirts that she loved. I always loved it and wished I could wear it but there was just no way, it was too big and lanky. So this was my solution. I used some of her favorite pearl buttons on it.

This is a shirt I made for my bestie Shelley from one of her husbands old tees and other random garments of hers.
This is my favorite. I didnt show the best part, the front, but if you browse my blog you will find it!
You can find the spot to purchase one of these babies here...

PEACE,
Laura
