Blog Friend Love

Yesterday was a good day.

I got to hug my Nanna's neck.
I got fresh groceries.
I saw old friends and had the best time.
I got to hold like 10 kittens.
I ate the best homeade garlic pasta ever.
I drank a Modelo.
and....
I got the sweetest package ever, from an online friend/one of my sponsors... Hoot N Annie.  This girl is seriously sweet and adorable.  I was so over joyed with her out of nowhere generosity of just 'thinking about me'...  THIS is what I mean about finding real connections online.  Sweetest thing ever.  I love totally unsuspected things like this, thank you Amber!!!!

*speaking of Amber, soon you will be getting a cute DIY from her*

She sent me this amazing cowl she made, which I didnt take off yesterday, Im in love, perfect colors, perfect everything.
Also, a mix cd full of wonderful music, that I am listening to right now... The cutest card in the world with the sweetest words inside.  And I think she has the best business card Ive ever seen.  I felt like one super special girl yesterday!
I just threw the cowl on with what I was wearing, and it was a perfect fit!  I think it will blend in my wardrobe like it was meant to be...

Today, we are getting the alternator on my car fixed.  Ive been carless for over a month.  James' best friend is a mechanic, so we get friend time along with it!

And, Im working on new teddy bear shirts and other things...  I found some adorable new fabrics just for them while thrifting the other day, I love them!  Im trying to make all sizes, but I can only work with what I have... so anyone who ever needs a special size, remember I can do customs on teddy bear shirts!  You can even send me your own shirt!

Here's to another good day!

PEACE,
Laura

Magnolia Pearl

Lately I have been finding myself dressing up for the day, just because.  Its cold outside, and its fun to layer up.  And after recently cleaning out my closet, I have done away with things that just sit there, so now I can utilize my staples in lots of different ways... Im pretty much in love with leggings, I wore these 3 days in a row, shhhh.....

Here I wore:
A beautiful Magnolia Pearl crochet lace top (it was my mothers)
cotton black drape front sweater
Skyline Fever bird tunic
leggings
recycled sweater legwarmers
plaid booties
feather earrings made by my friend Renea

Today I get to go hug my Nanna's neck, she has been in Australia for almost 3 weeks!  And go grocery shopping at Whole Foods, and then a dinner with some good friends that we havent seen in entirely too long!

What are your plans for today?

PEACE,
Laura

Top 5 Friday

Today's TOP 5 FRIDAY comes from  Heather over at Ramblings From The Animal House...

Top 5 Favorite things in my home:
(this one was hard to narrow down, and I kept changing my mind, so Im sure this list could go on and on...)

1. The things my mother handmade.  Each one of these things is equally meaningful to me... the top left also has a quilt my aunt crocheted... the top right sun quilt was made by my mother when she was in her twenties...and I think the crazy quilt on the bottom right was also.  That one is unfinished, but I love it soooooo... The bottom left is a kaliedescope she made for Tiffany's, and is what sparked the seed of her business making Broken China Jewelry.  It tells a story in glass and china.  If there was a fire in the house, these would be the things I would grab. (besides my pets of course)

2.our babies.  and yes, I make the bed everyday so they can all be together.  And I sleep with the two matching teddy bears.

3. I adore my vintage velvet sewing chair, which was scored during a thrifting date for $10!

4.Moon, my mannequin.  Ive had her since I was about 14.  She is always changing her looks.  She used to do craft shows with me.  She used to pose nude up at the restaurant I worked at!  She fell in love with a mysterious artist once.  She has had quite the life, and I will take her with me anywhere I go.  (I mean, if I move, not like driving in the car with me all buckled up!  ha ha, if that starts to happen, someone please stop me!)

5. My photos on my fridge.  I love seeing my mommies face right in the center of all of my favorite peeps.  I love changing all the photos out from time to time.  It just fills my kitchen with life and memories.

Im going to need some more suggestions for my Top 5 Fridays soon, this is an interactive blog feature that comes directly from you guys!  So head on over to this post, and add your question.  Please read the questions before yours to make sure you are not asking the same ones :)

PEACE,
Laura
