Feels like the weekend....

This week has quickly gone from work work work to play play play.  Two of our friends that live in California decided to come home for a visit on the same weekend.  So last night and the next two nights we have plans and friend fun going on.  Yesterday we drove Christie to see the house we dream of buying.  Then last night I went out with my bestie and her twin sister to a local bar and watched some music.  It was a very much needed night out with just the girls and I thoroughly enjoyed myself.  I feel a bit like crap right now, but it will wear off.  Im not used to drinking really at all anymore, so even a few drinks will now give me a headache the next day, I feel so old :)  But it was super fun and since it doesnt happen often at all, it was even more meaningful time spent with my girls.  This seriously feels like the first "weekend" ive had in forever!!!!

One another note, James has some really cute new styles he is working on.  I have already stolen 3 new tops!  This style is my absolute favorite.  Last night I wore one in plum with flowers but it was too dark to take pics...and it was just about the cutest outfit ive worn all year too!  oh well :)  But this style is flowy and loose, so good for layering with anything, its longer in the back so it covers your bum so you can wear it with leggings.  Im seriously in love.  We got them in brown too and I cant wait for him to pick which design will go on them.  We have lots of pics to take before we can put them up in the shop!

This day I wore it with a thin baseball tee, denim cut offs, floral leggings, striped Mountain Girl Clothing leg warmers, fabric leaf necklace by Katelyn Demidow, and of course, my green cons.

The other day I downloaded a goal planning workbook for this year, and I decided to keep it in my Style School notebook from last year from Elsie's class.  I love my notebook so much, it needed more excuses to be used.  I have tons of big and little goals all written out, so now I have something to look back to often for reference to keep me motivated and on course with making them come true!

On to another eventful day!

Creative Necklace Shoutout

My friend Katelyn of Scrufmeisterk is making the most adorable fabric necklaces ever!  I got her first simple large leaf one and wore it yesterday (pics to come)... And I cant wait to get one of these babies.  And since she was my little helper, I have credit built up, so it will fill a little hole in my shopping void!

I think these necklaces are the perfect blend of sweet femininity, craftyness & boho.  I love the blend of the chunky leaves and bows with the thin delicate string and light airy brass filagree balls.  Simply perfection.  I hope she makes a million of these babies!

You can find this one here.

and this one here.

Such sweetness....

A Night Out...

Since I knew we were going out with James parents last night, I had the perfect excuse to dress up a bit.  I have seriously been living in pjs for almost 2 weeks straight now.  Almost to the point of disgust, so it felt sooooo good to get cute.

James had just screenprinted these new beautiful tank tops, and I had also just received my trade from Mountain Girl Clothing, these amazing leg warmers (she has one more pair left!!!)... so I knew I wanted to wear those two things.  Oh, and my new guitar and harmonica necklace, which will go into the shop if I can part with it.  James already dibbed the other harmonica and has been playing it for the past two days.  Which has been so worth giving it up b/c its just about the cutest thing ever.  I told him he could only have it on the condition that he lets me take a video of him playing it!  So one day I will sneak it up on here :)

I absolutely could not get over the lovlieness of this tiny floral print next to this big bold native american print.  soooooooo perfect!

We drove downtown with his parents to eat at Schilo's a german joint.  I had a keilbasa sausage dog with kraut and a root beer!  a must have when you go to a place like that.  Even though I dont drink soda.  The we walked the riverwalk a bit, and popped into The Rainforest Cafe and ordered drinks just so we could walk around and look at it!  It was crazy in there!  None of us had ever been.  All of the animals came to life, and it even got dark and sounded like a rainy thunderstorm while we were in there, very cool!  The aquarium next to our table had this cute little bug eyed fish that just sat there looking at us the whole time.  He was so cute!  James wanted to bring him home.

It was a lovely escape from the crazyness of this week.  So good to spend time with his parents.  Im so glad we were able to do that.  Now, this morning, I have a coffee date and back to work work work.  Fingers are crossed that I get my tax numbers back today to continue the house process!

PEACE,
Laura
