Lovely Little Gifts...

This has been one amazing week as far as going to the post office!  Ive received so many goodies that Im so excited about.  These are all gifts from lovely friends that Ive traded with.  Feels so good during a time that I cant shop to get little presents in the mail!

I havent photographed this on myself yet, but Ive already worn it about 5 times since I got it, and Im wearing it right now.  So cute and cozy.  The seller is not only adorable, but very super sweet.  Her name Leah from Sookie Says.

And the these most adorable little things also come from a super rad chick!  We have just begun becoming friends online and I love her already.  So beautiful and so sweet.  Her name is Kamika from Kamika Krafts.

I cannot express how much I adore these earrings.  They are huge!  Hard to tell from the photo, I cant wait to get these babies in an outfit post to show you.  They were created by a super sweet girl who is also selling her goods on Red Velvet.  Her name is Sadie Rose from Lost Boy's and Lovers.  Is that not the prettiest name ever?

And this was just a very sweet surprise.  I bought four little doilies from one of my suppliers and she sent me a whole bundle of other doilies for free!  Now that is what I call an amazing seller.  I love this lady so much, this is not the first time she has done this!  Id love to give out her name, but she is my little secret :)

It is now officially time for me to stop playing and start working.  I have a big list ahead of me and need to stay focused.

Dont forget, I have a 25% off sale going on in my shop for anything in that section, which happens to be the cream of the crop in the shop!!!  Things I never put on sale are on sale!  Limited time only!

And the boy is currently having a 30% off all mens shirts sale!  And there has been new shirts listed recently and more coming today!!!

A Night Out with Rocky Votolato

The night before last we drove up to Austin to see one of our favorite musicians Rocky Votolato play at Stubb's.  It was a long awaited show, and the perfect timing for us to get out of town for a night, which I think was much needed.

Matt Pond opened up for him and I was blown away by their performance.  Honestly, I had listened to his stuff online before and couldnt really get into it.  But at this show they really broke it down to just him singing on guitar, one other guitarist and a cello player.  It was soulful and completely struck my heart.  The cello hit me to the core, along with his true to life lyrics.  Loved every moment of it.  And Rocky is even more amazing live, his voice is so full with the perfect amount of raspyness to it.  Not to mention he is as adorable as can be... (insert girly smiles and giggles)... He played some new songs that will be on an upcoming album that I loved, along with some older favorites.  Very good show, and so glad we went.  I was so tired that day I almost said lets not go.  So Im very happy I didnt wimp out.

James really doesnt like his picture taken, or else there would be a million of him on here... im lucky if i get one where he doesnt look mad or silly.  I have to steal them any chance I get!

I wore one of my newer Skyline Fever shirts to the show, Im completely in love with it... we need to get more of these!  we only order one s, m, l... and they are all gone before even going in the shop!  When paired with cotton leggings, its the most comfy outfit in the world!

Dorking out with my Rocky cd's to listen to on the way :)

I was so excited that he played my all time favorite song of his, Instrumental...  so so happy.  I brought my flip with me just in case he played it!

Enjoy the video :)

The Flowerchild Dwelling - Guest Post

Im very honored to have Kelly Ann as one of my sponsors this month.  I stumbled across her blog not too long ago actually and instantly felt a connection.  I really think we are kindred spirits somewhere along the way, at least in the way we see the world.  Everything I have seen of her, I feel connected to.  If you ever want to be simply inspired, visit her blog!

Hello there! I’m Kelly Ann from The Flowerchild Dwelling... and I am absolutely delighted to be posting here. Laura is one of my very favourite bloggers, and I think she is a true gem. :)

Today... I want you all to a take a break. From work, school, stress. Just for a moment. I think we tend to get so caught up in going, going, going 24/7, that we forget that life is supposed to be fun and relaxing sometimes. So, imagine this awesome day with me...

I’m throwing a party. For all of you. Not just any party. But a party that takes place in the most beautiful, sunny, warm, golden field. In the very center of the field, surrounded by dried grass and mustard flowers, there is a long, wooden table... with old dishes, bottles filled with wildflowers, and food & drink - a feast fit for a king. There’s a small cluster of trees a few feet away, with a hammock, and blankets, and stacks & stacks of old books. Off in the distance, you hear the faint roar of the ocean. The day is filled with laughing, eating, drinking, photographing, sleeping, and exploring. As the sun starts to set, lanterns are hung from the trees and the canopy over our table is all lit up. We all dance and laugh and sing as the stars fill up the sky and the moon shines down upon in all her glory.

To me... that is the perfect day. And I want every single one of you there. What would you bring?

This wonderful day needs a soundtrack, and since I’m obsessed with playlists, I put together the perfect collection of songs just for the occasion. So, throughout your day today, or throughout your week, whenever you’re feeling anxious, worried, or stressed, just listen to these songs and remember our wonderful party in the golden field. xo.
