Food Inspiration...

As much as I love yummy healthy food, I have to remind myself sometimes why its so important.  I can get in such a creative rush, that I forget to eat until I must eat now now now!  And then I just want to grab whatever is quick and easy.  When I do take the time to do it up right, I love to photograph it for inspiration when I need it.  These aren't photos I share often, but I thought it might be inspiring to someone else.

I know that in the world of 'healthy' foods, these arent even the best, but they are my go to easy feel good meals.  My plates usually look very random like the bottom one.

What are some of your quick and easy go to healthy meals?  Id love to know.

My Favorite Pinafore Jumper...

The other day I wore my adorable deer jumper.  It's still one of my favorite jumper's Ive ever made.  Not only is it so cute, it's soooo comfy.  And I love the relaxed feel of these jumpers when paired with a t-shirt and converse.

Yesterday afternoon was perfectly spent with two of our best friends, scouting out one of our river accesses in our new neighborhood.  I must go back down their with my camera.  It is way more amazing than I ever could have imagined.  It started of with a winding little rock step pathway leading down a cliff to the river.  One you get down there, there is a rock picnic table, a firepit and flat platform to hang out on.  And even a rope swing, even though the water is way too low for such fun yet!  We trucked down the river quite a ways and found some amazing cliffs.  I was so excited to see tons of swallows nests built on the cliffs!  I want to do a cool photoshoot there so bad.  The whole thing was beyond perfect.  And since its part of our community, it is not accessable to the public, so its super private!  A great day with friends.  And finally today we are seeing some much much needed rain!!!

This is how we spend our mornings now...

taking in the sunrise on the porch with our coffee, IN MY ROBE!  something i could never do in town.  such a refreshing change of pace.  before i would wake up in my dark little house, make my coffee and go straight to emails.  not anymore!  and now that Bella can go outside anytime she wants... me, violet & bella all get to hang out together in peace.

Im slowly fixing up the outside.  james parents were so sweet to bring us two hanging baskets of the prettiest flowers.  i took some really lovely photos of them the other day.  and we brought over all of our gardening pots and accessories.  although it wont be until next season that i can garden.  but its comforting to have all of my momma's things on my porch.

and yep, thats me first thing in the morning!  and dont you just love the way the sunlight comes through the trees?

how do you spend your mornings?  do you give yourself time or do you jump right into the day?

Today we have friends visiting morning and night!  Shall be a good sunday.  And then tomorrow we are going to Ikea!!!  Oh my Im excited!

Designing a Jewelry Nook...

I finally prettied up my jewelry space in the bedroom.  You may remember how I had it in my last house.  I knew I still wanted to use this old wooden piece that came out of a piano.  I took off the backing I had on it before to make it more simple and earthy.  I also used an old shutter that I reclaimed from my parents house.  My dad had them in the burn pile and I snagged them up.  I remember them being on the house since I was little and new they had some life in them still.  I also used some of my mom's special antique bowls to keep my headbands and things in.  Since I have so much jewelry, I decided just to hang up my favorite and most special pieces.  I originally wanted to hang up my vintage purse collection, but Im not sure Ill have the room.  I may have to squeeze some on another wall.

This amazing vintage dresser was in my mom's bedroom.  She loved this piece, and I am so honored to now have it in my own bedroom.  And Ive had so much fun adding my square photo wood squares all over the house!  They add such a nice little touch.

So as you can see, you dont need alot 'jewelry' hangers to keep your pretties.  You can use so many different found objects, bowls or anything to create a special place for your favorite things.

I am having so much fun with the freedom to do what I want with my own walls!  Love it!  Im sure overtime it will change.  Im loving the process.

PEACE,
Laura
