New bottled up pretties...

Im about to be listing some new pretties in my Roots and Feathers shop.  These are sneak peaks of the finished versions.  I thought they looked so pretty together before adding the rest of the necklace parts.  I added a few new things the other day too.  Its looking mighty nice in the shop!

I had to take miss Violet up to the vet today to spend two nights to do her second part of her treatment.  It was sad dropping her off and we miss her already.  But she is in good hands.  Today has been full of getting things done.  I organized all of my paper work from the last 6 months.  Yep, that's how far behind I was!  Got my desk all cleaned off.  Worked on orders and photographed a bunch of new jewelry.  Now time to edit and list!  I also made a list minute decision to join a super amazing group of girls who are selling their wares at a local shop in New Braunsfels.  You can read Shauna from PPP's post all about it here.  Im so excited to be among them, and now I have my work cut out for me, oh my!  I have just two weeks to get a whole collection made for the shop!

PEACE,
Laura

Feeling loved...

Yesterday I founded myself flooded with love from people.  Made me realize that those bad apples that seem to come up in my life from time to time are nothing compared to all of the amazing people I have found in my life, at home and on the internet.  I feel very blessed to have made some of the connections I have in my life.

I received these very good smelling incense from an online friend yesterday.  They smell yummy and she had them packaged up so lovely.  And the words written inside this card I will cherish forever.  Thank you Hillary.

My bestie recently took a two week trip to California and brought me back these rocks and shells from the beach.  I love them.  Reminds me so much of my mom.  And she also scored an amazing collection of vinyls the other day and gave me a few, including my favorite Neil Young album.  I cant wait to get a frame and showcase the inside artwork in my house!

A super sweet girl named Taibi sent me this wonderful little leather pouch that reminded her of me.  I think it is just precious.  And a while back she also sent me the amazing little art piece below.  She is definitely a talented girl

These were actually birthday gifts from a special friend.  I was pretty overwhelmed with her thoughtfulness in these gifts.  This amazing cookie jar is from the 60's, and no telling how old the singer embroidery is.  I am just enamored with them.  There were also a few other goodies in there.  Thank you Staci, you are indeed a sweetheart.

Thank you girls for your amazing hearts and thoughtfulness.  I feel it.

PEACE,
Laura

Life... just an update...

Thank you for your well wishes on my last post.  It has just been on of those weeks (or two it seems).  Sorry to have been such a downer lately.  Yesterday was much better and Im feeling on the up.  I think my daily worrying about Violet has left me a bit vulnerable and emotional lately.  I even had a dream last night that I walked outside and James was letting her run around the yard as fast as she could and I freaked out.  (she is not suppose to get excited while on this treatment or her heart could fail).  So I know I am having anxiety about her.  I also dreamt last night the me and my dad flew off a bridge in his car and crashed in a ditch.  I had tons of other crazy dreams last night also.  So Im sure it has a lot to do with it.

The other day James wanted to go to our favorite coffee shop to eat (along with running errands), so I quickly agreed.  Hes been working lots of days in a row and I knew we both needed to get out a bit.  I wore a tube top I made the other day from a vintage dress.  I loved the pattern on the dress, but the dress itself was awful, so I remedied it up a bit.  That morning for a lunch snack I made myself this yummy anti-pasto dish.  Super easy and yummy.  Just mix mozzerella cheese, kalamata olives, cherry tomatoes and a spoon of basil pesto.

We cannot go to Ingram without stopping in at least one little thrift store, there are several on that stretch of road.  I scored these mocs and two pink rugs for dirt cheap.  I was thrilled to say the least.  Oh and I thought my sandwich looked hilarious above, like a silly monster face!

Id like to ask you for your prayers again for miss Violet Mae.  This morning when I took her to go potty there was a little worm that I suspect to be a tape worm, not a heart worm.  I have a call in with the vet and am awaiting a reply.  I really hope not, but from what I found on the internet, it is looking very likely that this is what it is.  All she had to do was eat a flea or piece of animal poo that had been infested with this nastyness to get it.  So she may have two different kind of worms inside her.  Im so sad for her.  Its so weird b/c I thought we took super good care of our animals, but I guess sometimes good is not good enough.  Anyway, just keep her in your thoughts.  She goes in on tuesday to start her second round of treatment and will have to stay the night there for two nights.  Its going to be hard not having her here.

Heres to keeping my chin up right now.  I have lots of work to do today, and Im super excited to go and see my Nanna tomorrow.  Time to get my booty in gear :)

PEACE,
Laura
