Lazy day...

Today was an uber lazy day.  It was my 'girl' time so I was achy and just plain blah all day.  We had 3 engagements that we bailed out on as well.  It was actually nice and breezy out this morning, so I sat on the porch with a blanket, pillow, coffee, oatmeal, book & bella.  We snuggled and sprawled out until it started getting hot out.  Then I basically sat on my butt all day, listed a few things on etsy, made a treasury... Then when James got home we laid on the couch and both passed out for a few hours.  It was quite nice and much needed.  Then I did some more sitting around on my butt.  My butt actually really hurts because of it, ha ha!

And of course the bathtub soak while listening to pandora.  Then getting in trouble later for playing with my phone while taking a bath, oops!  :)
Violet getting daddy lovin'.
Gosh I think my husband is handsome.  Wow.  Im so happy he let me capture these pics today, its a rarity that I can.

Hoping tomorrow will be a much more productive and hopefully smiley day!

Roots and Feathers excitement...

Im so excited that I just had to share... my Roots and Feathers etsy shop has made it to the front page of etsy two days in a row!  The fun thing about having a new shop, is that it is new!  Its almost 3 whole months old, ha ha!  Even after my Violet Bella account making it to the front page 44 times and my Photography account making it 31 times, it still feels so exciting every time!!!  I felt the same way for my hubby when his shop made it to the front page too!  Its just plain fun and exciting!  I put these up in widget form so you can actually click around and visit everyone's shops that are in these two treasuries!

And speaking of my Roots and Feathers shop, I have added some new things recently... some may be sold already... and there are more newbies not pictured here.  And more to come!  I have another batch of 'feather in a bottle' necklaces coming soon.

Girl Hour...

Highlight of my week... hearing my bestie play guitar for me!  She just started learning two weeks ago and Im so proud of her.  She already played the mandolin, but wanted to pick up acoustic guitar too.  Im loving it.  I spent a few hours with her the other evening and we just talked and drank wine.  It was just what I needed.  And this morning I went to the annual parade in our little cowboy town with her family.  It was HOT.  insanely hot.  Like sitting there with sweat dripping down our faces and backs.  So. Ready. For. Fall.

We keep getting teased with clouds that look like they are going to bare some rain... TEASED!  Our mother earth needs it so bad here.  Our poor trees and animals are dying because of this heat and drought. I hope everyone enjoys their labor day weekend and finds ways to stay cool!

The Blue Velvet Dress

A little peek into my closet.  As if I dont have enough clothes already???  (this is just one corner of the closet.  Im the kind of girl that has kept certain clothes since I was 15.  Ive just recently been allowing myself to really clean out my closets and weed out the old to make room for the new.  One reason why I had my virtual yard sale a little while back.  And I may just have another one!
So... yesterday Red Velvet launched their new dress line!  I remember last seasons line sold out so fast and at the time I was in no position to be buying a dress.  And Im really not now either, but I caved and splurged on this beauty below.  I could not choose between this one and the orange one, but I finally went with the blue b/c it reminds me of a pair of blue velvet pants I had when I was younger that my mom loved.  And I have NOTHING blue in my closet, not a color I normally like.  But in this velvet it is sooo dreamy.  I was frantic trying to decide whether or not I could even purchase it.  I knew these dresses would be gone soon and they are not remaking them.  And these are NOT dresses you will find on ebay a few months from now at half price.  No way.  I figure I will just have to work extra hard next week to make up for it!  And now I have a super special dress to wear on a date.  Wait whats a date?  I forgot.  Ill find somewhere to wear it!  I just wish my mom could see me in it, she would be over the moon.

Thank you Elsie and Mallory for making such beauties!!!  Im so excited!

Laura
