Dried Flowers >>>

These are the beautiful flowers that my friend Robin (the girl from my last post) brought me when she came over.  Are they not gorgeous?  I love that she brought me dried flowers.  I can keep them forever and remember this sweet turning point in our lives.  And of course, just one photo of them would not do.  I have to obsessively take photos of everything.  A sweet gift from a sweet girl.

Today Im working on lots of shipping.  Since yesterday was a holiday, today is my monday.  And... in 10 days I get to announce something crazy awesome that I cant wait to share with everyone!  No, Im not pregnant, although I am experiencing baby fever again.

PEACE,
Laura

Funny how being gone from my blog for only two days now seems like forever. This week has brought some pretty amazing things into my life. The day before yesterday we had an old friend visit us.  She was James girlfriend all through high school, and neither of us have really talked with her since school, almost 12 years now!  Its something I think we were all a bit apprehensive about, but at the same time really wanted to reconnect.  She was always someone I felt like I was connected to on a soul level, but being adolescent and hormonal, things got in the way of us ever really becoming good friends.  She came over for a little visit and ended up staying until 9:30 that night!  It was awesome.  We just talked and talked and talked... and re-realized how much we really are alike.  It was pretty amazing.  I can only hope its the beginning of a new beautiful friendship.  She is now in Austin which is only 2 hours away, so Im thinking it will be!  It was very cute to watch her and James interact as well.  He had this goofy grin he couldn't wipe off his face.  I love that we are all adults now and can look back on the past and laugh, and not be weird or jealous.  It feels super grown up.  It also makes for a deeper connection having those roots.  Im just absolutely giddy about it all.  And in a weird way, it has made me feel so much closer to James too.  Something we did together with nerves and courage, and came through with a new sense of understanding of life and relationships.  For the past two days all I have wanted to do is snuggle up under his arms and be crazy close.

I got new glasses and they are wayyyyyy bigger than I thought they would be.  Still trying to decide if I love them or hate them.

Miss Violet hung out in the mud yesterday.  She insists on being outside even if its wet out.  When we brought her in last night she was COVERED in mud.  It was crazy!  I had to just pick her up and carry her straight to the bathtub.  And she got a little teeth brushin' while she was in there.  Im loving this rain, but it sure does a number on my dog!

Ive been posting new things in Roots and Feathers as I can, and will be more throughout the day.  I finally listed a few of the things from the sneak peek photos from earlier.  Go check out the shop!

Daily Outfit >>> Moorea Seal + Ruche

Yesterday I wore my favorite necklace for fall, my triple chevron necklace by Moorea Seal.  I got this necklace a while back as my one 'special' fall piece of jewelry.  I think Moorea is a really special artist, uber talented, so friendly and humble, just an all around cool cat and Im glad our paths have crossed in this huge infinite online world.  And this necklace couldn't compliment my most favorite pants of the season any more, my mustard cords from Threadsence (or Ruche).  Both tops Im wearing are from Forever 21.  I love fall fashion, it just suits my style.  So so happy its here!

Im slowly working on getting the rest of the new stuff for Roots and Feathers listed.  We have company coming today, so Ive been a bit side tracked with cleaning and other errands the past two days.  This morning I woke up to a very rainy day, which Im so grateful for.  We could use a straight week of rain here.

PEACE,
Laura

Feathers and pumpkins >>>

Reasons why I love living in a small town... Yesterday James and I had haircut appointments. As we drive into town, we pass a bar with three horses tied to fence posts while there owners are in the bar (at noon). Then our hairstylist gives me a huge bag of feathers that she picked off her own land because she has turkeys and peacocks running around on it. LOVE it! Some of the feathers she gave me blow my mind. Look at that huge one below, it is insanely big! And I adore the large white spotted ones, Ive never seen them like that. I was so honored to put these feathers in my old bottles on my mantle.

These little pumpkins are the ones we got the other day for Violet, Bella and Nico.  They are just so stinkin cute.  I havent decided what Im going to do with them just yet.  I wish so badly we could do a photoshoot with all three of them together with the pumpkins!  How cute would that be???  I cant wait to go to the pumpkin patch and pick out some pumpkins for us.

Bella thinks that every little spot in the house is hers.  And quite honestly, it is.  She rules the roost around here.  I love the bottom photo, it almost looks like she has a little indian headress on...

To those of you who signed up for my newsletter, I sent them out this morning.  I had 10 unconfirmed emails, so if you did not receive it, please go sign up again and make sure it goes through... otherwise, I cant send it out to you.  Thanks :)
