Himalayan Salt Lamp >>>

My sweet friend Katelyn brought this beautiful himalayan salt lamp to me as a gift when she came to stay with me.  I replaced my bedside lamp with it, and I cant even express what a difference it has made in the atmosphere in my bedroom.  It is soooo beautiful to look, that it just makes my heart swoon.  I love that it is much softer than my normal lamp to read by, so James can actually fall asleep easier while I read.  I like to stay up and read and he snoozes within second of hitting the pillow.  And, James like to lick my lamp.  I licked it once or twice, but he keeps licking it, ha ha.  Beyond its yummy taste, Ive never seen a prettier lamp.  And reading about them, its awesome to know all of their benefits, beyond just their beauty.

Now, between this and having the record player in the bedroom, Id say its just about perfect.  Now I just need to get my Portishead Dummy album on vinyl, and it will be complete.

Threads - Tee Pee Dress >>>

Its been a little while since Ive shared an outfit post. Im here today with what I wore to my Nanna's the other night. James just printed these tee pee dresses for Skyline Fever, and I had to nab one. They are not listed yet, but we have one small, large and extra large available... if you would like to reserve one, just leave a comment below with your email address, first come first serve. These are the only ones we will have of these unfortunately. We are coming to the end of our stock. You can check out his shop to see others similar to it and to view prices.

This beautiful vest is from Obella Organics.  Im so in love with it.  It layers with almost anything.  I want one in every color.  Im loving her new work, and cant wait to see her fall releases!  This amazing triangle necklace is from Moorea Seal.  Its meant to be worn long, but I really wanted it short for this outfit, so I just added a simple little golden triangle to the end of the chain that hangs down so it looked like it was meant to be like that.  Now I can wear it short or long!  This darling purse was gifted to me by my bestie this week, and Im so excited that it is the perfect size for my camera.  I love it.  I added a little purse decor from my Roots and Feathers shop to it.  To top it all off, my favorite Blowfish sandals.  Again, comfiest shoes in the world.  And, you can get 15% off by using the code on their button on my sidebar, and clicking on the button to shop!

Family Time + An Amazing Meal >>>

Yesterday was such a good day.  I had called my Nanna to see if we could come over for dinner and see some of the family b/c I was really missing everyone.  Of course she said yes!  But I warned her I wouldn't be able to actually eat what everyone was eating since Im on my food fast, so I brought my meal with me.  These are some of my favorite things to eat, and together its like heaven.  It will definitely become a regular meal of mine way beyond the fast.  Im doing a 10 day juice/smoothie/raw food fast.  And this meal cheats a little bit, but Ive given myself a few out of bounds okays...

It is one sliced avocado with green onions, pumpkin and sunflower seeds, a little sea salt and lemon.  A tomato with feta, pear balsalmic vinegar and pepper and garlic sprinkles.  Yum!!!  Amazingly flavorful and filling.  I was soooo proud of myself to stick to my guns while everyone was eating yummy bbq chicken and sausage, and homeade potato salad and macaroni and cheese, and BROWNIES!!  It was hard, very hard, to pass up my Nanna's brownies.  But I did it!

It was simply one of the best nights over there too.  The whole family was there and everyone was in a good mood and really enjoyed each other.  Well, except my little nephew.  Poor boy had a tummy ache and was not a happy camper for most of the night.  James and two of my uncles played guitar in the living room and we all just sat around and enjoyed them.  It was just one of those really good evenings with your family.  It doesn't happen everytime we get together, but when it does, it just makes my heart sing.

Self-Care >>>

One of our projects in the Intuitive Heart Sanctuary was to take some photos of a few things we do for self-care.  This is one of my favorite subjects, as I am a firm believer that we must take care of ourselves first, before we can lovingly take care of others.  Or at least make little bits of time for ourselves when we can, in between.  It is very very important.  Self care does not have to be something that takes alot of time, just something that makes your soul sing, even if for 5 minutes.  Below are a few images that do that for me.

1. We recently moved the record player into our bedroom and its one of the best things we could of done.  I get to turn on a record now when Im in the shower or tub, or right before bed to relax to before I fall asleep.  Or while I fold laundry on the bedroom floor!

2. I love bath salts.  My friend Rain sent me the best bath salts Ive ever used from Origins and I use it like its gold, ha ha.  I recently traded a friend the other bath salts and Im loving them.  They are from Sage Goddess.

3. Just a few of the books Im currently reading.  I usually have between 5-10 books Im going back and forth between each night, depending on my mood.  I like reading this way.  Otherwise I tend to get bored really easily.  After seeing several recommendations, Im anxiously awaiting the arrival of Women Who Walk With Wolves.

4. Smoothies.  Nourishing my body has been a big priority for myself lately.  Im more ways than one.  But making a simple smoothie is an easy way to nourish your body each day.  Something that even my hubby will drink and he hates all veggies.  :)
