RESISTANCE

I have been meeting myself with alot of resistance lately.  I didn't even have a word for it until I was editing this photo for this post.  It just clicked in my mind, and opened my eyes to what it was I was feeling.  For several weeks, or more, I have had some blockages.  I have signed myself up for so many things I wanted to work on.  Soul things, ecourses, yoga and hooping groups, etc.  And each one of those things I made intentions to work on, have come to a screeching halt.  I feel like I have said yes so many times, to just look back and say, damn... another thing I forgot to do.  Or, another thing I felt a resistance with.  The more I think about this word, the more it feels so much deeper than just those little things I sign myself up for.  But it reflects so much into my core being, and feelings, thoughts and beliefs I have held within myself over the past few years, and some over a lifetime.

I am going to try to hold these spaces in my heart with gentleness, instead of continuing to mentally beat myself up.  The old scars and bruises are no longer working for me.  It's time to cleanse and purge my old thought processes.  Make room for new growth.  Make room for more love.  And I even feel resistance to this as I type these words.

One of my all time favorite quotes has always been one from Leonard Cohen... 'there is a crack in everything.  that's how the light gets in'.  Such a powerful line.  I made a typography several weeks ago, and just shared it on The Bohemian Collective the other day.

How do you face your own resistance to growth or change?

THREADS - AT HOME COZY + GIVEAWAY WINNERS

I thought it would be fun to do a simple outfit post on a lounging day.  A day spent working from home and being cozy.  Im cold by nature, so even this slight cool front that has come through the past few days, I have been wearing sweaters.  I love this one from chicnova b/c its like crochet, so even though its a sweater, its still breezy with the holes.  A perfect transitional sweater for fall.  I love loose baggy sweaters, and this one fits the bill! I wore my favorite and most cozy wide leg pants that were gifted to me by my bestie years back.  And a beanie my friend made me.  It was really cold enough to be wearing a beanie indoors, but some days little comfort things like this are just that, comforting.  It feels nice to wear something snuggly that a dear friend made me.  This friend I speak of was my childhood best friend.  We were inseparable.  She just had her second baby, and he is so very sweet.  She sells amazingly adorable cloth diapers on etsy, and one day when we have a little one, she will be making me some customs one, eeek!

As promised, here are all of the winners for the past 3 giveaways!!!  If you see your name below, please email me at violet_bella {at} hotmail {dot} com to claim your prize!  Congrats to the winners, and thank you to everyone who entered!

THREADS - HANDMADE STYLE

Im so happy the weather has cooled down enough for me to wear these awesome pants from Mountain Girl Clothing.  Ive had them for a while now, but got them in the middle of summer and they were just way too hot.  I love Margaret's work and these are no exception!  And this is the first Poor Pitiful Pearl top I ever got, and is still my favorite piece in my closet from Shauna.  I think these two make the perfect combo.  You might remember this beautiful fringed purse from this outfit.  It's from Lost Boys and Lovers, another true favorite.  The oh so pretty headband is from Spirit Y Sol.  It was a piece from the latest Bohemian Collective lookbook. And last but definitely not least, this handmade medicine pouch from Vision Wise.  Lauren is a sweet heart sister of mine and she made this for me with special stones and medicine for some things Im working through.  I keep it next to my bed when I am not wearing it.  Lauren is the one who runs the Intuitive Heart Sanctuary which I am a part of.  Lots of soul there.  Being in this community of artists sets my heart ablaze.  I love having creative friends I can trade goodies with, and support as well.

This post is being pre-written right now.  As you are reading this, I am most likely in my backyard spending time with a dear sweet friend of mine whom I haven't seen in a while.  Im savoring every sweet moment.  I will be back monday with yet another amazing giveaway!  And Ill announce the winners for the Chicnova giveaway and the Crochet Headwrap giveaway!
