This little outfit post is actually about 2 months old!  I totally forgot about it and it got lost in the vortex of photos on my hard drive... (a scary place that is).  Reminds me how much I love this vest from Skyline Fever.  I recently re-designed the flowerchild image, so this older version may no longer go into production.  Were not sure yet, we may keep both b/c James still really loves this one.  I can't wait to release the new one though...  Actually, we have several new images coming soon!  And we are about to be bringing back all of the sold out crop tops!  I am really so proud of James and his little shirt company.  I may be a bit biased, but Im just so in love with it all.

This  morning I feel like Im on the verge of recovery so to speak.  You may remember about two weeks ago I was going like mad, full of energy and inspiration and I just couldn't stop myself... I said at one point that I was probably going to burn and crash... Well, then came last week... James had the whole week off, and somehow before the week even started we had every day filled up with something.  Most of it was good stuff, full of friends and wonderful things.  By sunday I felt absolutely exhausted.  I couldn't really figure out why I felt so tired b/c it really was like a vacation in a way.  But my Nanna reminded me that I'm so used to being by myself all day long, and so much activity and human interaction probably just depleted me, and I think she is absolutely right.  I spent Sunday and Monday so tired I could barely function properly, and then all day yesterday I had the worst headache that just would not go away until I went to bed last night.  I finally decided to slather myself in Thieves oil that my friend had sent me for headaches, and grab my amethyst stone and put myself to bed early.  It was the best decision I could of made.  I slept a little over 10 hours last night and I feel so much better.  I know alot of it too is my lack of watching what I eat and how I move the past few weeks.  I was doing so well for a while and when things get busy I just tend to fall apart in those areas.  Its like I have to keep having these cycles, and keep getting myself back on track.  I don't know what it will take to just keep me on a constant daily self care regimen.

NATURE KEEPSAKE JAR DIY

nature keepsake jar diy.jpg

I know this blog has never been one for DIYS, but I've been daydreaming of a few things Id love to share with you for a while... so I'm thinking of bringing a few DIY type posts here!  I did not intend this to be a diy when I took these photos, so I don't have any of the actual process... but it's simple enough I don't think you need them.

This was a gift I gave my best friend for her son's birth.  It is his first 'nature collection' of things native to Texas.  I think this would make a really great gift for baby, or just as a keepsake of things from a special trip you may have taken... How fun would it be to have keepsake jars from all of your trips to remember them by!

1 // collect your items from nature & arrange them in your jar.  i tried to fill my jar with as much intention as possible so that each item was on 'display'.  i also packed it as full as possible to keep all the items from shifting around alot.  you could size your bottle according to the amount of items you have to fill it with.

2 // trace your jar lid on the backside of your leather or fabric and cut it out.  you may want to write on it before gluing it on, just in case you mess up and want to start over.  you could write a name on it if it's a gift, or you could title it for your 'trip' and add a date to it!  get creative and decorate it however you see fit.  if you are using fabric, you could even embroider a name on it.

3 // cut out a strip of leather or fabric that is longer than the circumference of your lid.

4 // glue your fabric to the top of your lid & tie your strip around the jar.  i tried making my strip thick enough of cover the jar lid as much as i could.  i also glued it in place over the lid since it was for a baby gift, which makes it unable to be opened until mom decides he is old enough to play with the items inside.

If you decide to make one, I would LOVE to see a photo!  Enjoy!

This was probably one of the most coziest outfits Ive ever worn.  So colorful, so fun & so cozy.

I'm super excited, in about one hour my friends Katelyn & Makenna will be at my house!  I'll be meeting Makenna for the first time and I get to show them my home town.  Well, Katelyn knows it well now since she has been here so many times.  I'm super stoked though!
