outfit details:  dress - spirit tribe // necklaces - forever21 // bracelet - roots and feathers // sandals - lulu*s.com

This dress is one of the prettiest things I have ever adorned my body with.  The massive amount of photos here is due to having way too much fun in the golden hour, coupled with this pretty dress & the wind.  My favorite thing about this dress is you can unwrap it and wear it as a kimono too.  I have been lounging around the house in it and feeling all super lux sitting on my couch :)

The bracelet is my newest beaded bracelet for Roots and Feathers.  Daydreaming of being at the beach of course, so I threw in some cowrie shells on it.  I love how feminine it is.  I'm getting so excited for the end of the month when I will be spending 4 whole days with the women in my family on a little vaca.  I love that it has become a yearly tradition now.  Soooo looking forward to it.

P.S. In case you missed it, there is a brand new giveaway up!!!

PIECES OF HOME

Bella sprawled out on the floor

1 // This is what Bella does every morning when I wake up and get my coffee ready.  She plops down on this rug just like this and makes noises until I rub her belly.  She has this alien like purr that she does, its so cute.

Drawing Within oils

2 // I got some yummy oils from Drawing Within just in time for this last full moon!  Excited to share a giveaway with her soon!

Patio

3 // I love our little stone patio we made below our steps.  We put it in originally well over a year ago, but we laid it too low the first time and when it rained it got completely covered with mud, ha ha, defeating its whole purpose.  We finally got around to digging it up and doing it right this time!

Oatmeal

4 // After dealing with tummy issues all week, this oatmeal was like heaven for my tummy.  It has carmalized apples, bananas, cinnamon and honeycomb in it.  Yummm....

Cat in a lap

5 // sitting on a porch swing with a kitty named Monkey in my lap while James gets his hair cut.  Was a nice little break.

Gaia Conceptions top

6 // I wore my Gaia Conceptions top a few times in one week.  Ridiculously cozy and beautiful.

James planting our Jasmine bush

7 // James planted our jasmine plant that desperately wanted to be in the ground.  It was amazing, after a day of being in the ground all the yellow leaves were gone and it started blooming, like overnight!  It is soooo happy!

Roots and Feathers Jewelry

8 // Some Roots & Feathers pretties that went to new homes this week.

Sweet note from my mom

9 // While thumbing through some books on my shelf I came across this sweet note from my mama she gave me before our wedding.  Brought me tears of joy.  I apparently did not ever get that massage, ha ha!  I probably tucked it away and forgot about it in my wedding flurries.  I love my mamas handwriting.  It always make me smile.  I have been missing her so incredibly much lately, and I keep getting little signs like this that she is near.  Makes me so happy.

Date Night

10 // James and I had a little solo date in our front yard for Mother's Day.  It was just what I needed, and we had a reallly good dinner and just sat and talked for a long time afterwards.  Good stuff for the soul (and the marriage).  We have big dreams right now about how we are going to fix this little area up.  We never paid much attention to our front yard before, but after he moved this table from our backyard to the front, it has flooded in the ideas.  Can't wait to get started!

BARNWOOD JEWELRY DISPLAY

safety first

For the longest time I have been wanting to make a little barnwood shelf to photograph my jewelry on.  We finally got some of my dad's old barnwood over to our house a few weeks ago, and the other day while James was at work I got the wild hair to just get the power tools out and do it.  Even though my dad was a carpenter, I actually have very little experience.  I had used the hand saw a few times in my life, but its been a long time.  I had to go off memory and imagination.  And it took me almost all day, but it was worth it!  I did keep asking my dad if he would send down his expertise to me, but I think he was probably getting a good kick out of watching me do this on my own!

preparing to build a shelf

Luckily I only had to cut 6 boards.  I just took my time and went slow.  I didn't have the proper wood and tools to use on the back to connect all the boards together.  It would of been a super simple project if I could of just had the patience to wait until that afternoon to go to the hardware store.  But, when I get my mind on something, I get determined one way or another.  And I'm actually glad that I did b/c it came out funkier and better than it ever would have if I would of done it the 'proper' way.

I had a box of super old hinges and doorplates and all kinds of random things like that so I used them all to connect each board together on the front and back with screws.  I kept running out of screws in the right size and had so stop to search our house up and down about 10 times to find more.  Another way my patience would have come in handy to just go buy the screws I needed.  But nope.  And finally, I made it work and it all came together and I love my little shelf all the more for it.  It is my little hillbilly shelf.

I'm still going to adds some more old knobs on top b/c I did run out of the proper screws for that.  But other than that she is done!  Isn't she a doll?  Below is my FIRST jewelry photo using her!  I can't wait to do some more barnwood projects with this old wood my dad kept for most his life.  I have ideas in my head!

I'm more than just a little in love with this shirt.  I have been wanting a Make Art Not War shirt for years and years, but everytime I found one I either couldn't afford it at the time or it just wasn't the right one.  And I found the right one!  There's not really a whole lot to say except, I love this whole outfit.  Period.

I had alot more posts planned this week, but Ive been a bit down with some stomach issues and my moontime.  But I'm slowly regaining my life back I think...
