This week has been full of furry babies, good food, making orders and rain.  Lots of rain.  We actually got a pretty good flood at the river by our house.  It should be just right to swim in in about a week I'm hoping!

It's been an emotional week too.  We found out Violet had skin cancer and a few days after that we had her in the vet for surgery.  She is doing really well!  She has to wear a cone collar for two weeks, but we can handle that!  We are just glad we caught it so early.

Bella has been a goofball all week.  Lots of silly playing.  She has decided the empty cubby above in our shipping mailer area is her new spot to chill while we work on printing shirts.  She gets in it everytime!  So so cute.

This week we made homeade burgers & fries... blackened salmon salad... pasta with zucchini, asian chicken & rice tacos... mmmmmmm...  And over the weekend we went to a bbq at our friends house and lots of yummy food there too!  Its been a good food week.  :)

I worked on tons of orders for Roots & Feathers after my sale!  Almost done, but still a few I won't be able to get to until I return home from vaca.  I leave today and don't get back till monday evening.  Luckily just I am leaving so James will be home all weekend to take care of Violet!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!  I have a few posts that will go up over the weekend, I just won't be here to respond.  Peace!

ADORN ME // CUSTOMER LOVE

Alicia Thiede wearing Roots & Feathers

I'm so excited to introduce a little series here on the blog dedicated to my most loyal Roots & Feathers customers!  Over the years I have had a few customers who grown quite the collections of my work, and I must say, rad girls tend to be behind the scences!  So I thought it would be fun to get to know some of them and see how they style my work.  We are kicking this off with the soulful, traveling gypsy, Alicia Thiede of Milagro Girl.

My family and I live full time in an RV, traveling and exploring along the way. I’m a true gypsy soul. With such limited space and the ability to only have things that are beautiful (or useful) l I am in love with Roots and Feathers. I wish I could explain to you the way it feels to wear what Laura creates. It’s like there are little bits of magic woven in. When I received my Luna Dreams necklace I fell head over heals. My friend Hillary gifted me the feather necklace that I’m wearing in my new blog banner and while the photos that Laura uses are so stunning, they can’t begin to capture the quality and beauty of her work. Life in my motorhome is cozy and I love these so much that I leave them all dangling from the cabinet knobs above my bed. I cannot wait to add more to my collection. These are by far some of my most treasured belongings.

JAMESTOWN REVIVAL

Jamestown Revival tickets

A little over a month ago James surprised me with tickets to see Jamestown Revival at Sam Burger Joint.  Needless to say I was one happy girl, and it was hard to wait a month for it to roll around.  I actually just heard about them a few months ago.  I think they played on one of my pandora stations and everytime I heard one of their songs I loved it.  A few weeks ago James downloaded the digital version of their album and Ive been listening to it almost daily since.

They were so good live.  So fucking good.  I couldn't stop thinking about the show for two days straight afterwards.  Ive seen alot of really good live shows in my life, including Neil Young, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Steve Earle, Willie Nelson, etc... and I enjoyed this show just as much as any of those.  I'm sure these guys are going to explode at some point, so it was really great to see them while they are still a but less known b/c it was a great intimate show.  They told funny jokes and talked a bit about what each song was about, which I love when seeing a show.  Getting more of the back story always makes things a bit more real and intimate.  We got a chance to talk to the guys after the show and they were the NICEST folks around.  Seriously nice guys.

Jamestown Revival Tee

I was happy to walk away with the physical copy of the album, which is adorable and looks like a mini vinyl.  I really wanted to get the vinyl too but I couldn't afford it all!  I did snag this rad guys tee though which I won't lie, I wore 3 days in a row when I got home b/c its sooooo comfy.

It was the best date night.  The best surprise.  A great show.  I really really really hope they come back to San Antonio on their next tour.  I will go see these talented Texas native boys any day.
