REIKI RAIN // GUARDIAN

I am thrilled to share Reiki Rain with you today.  I have hands down found my scent.  I intuitively picked this scent off of its name, Guardian.  A few weeks ago, during a period of heavily thinking of my parents, I chose this.  I also knew I loved the scent of Lavender, Juniper & Vanilla.  When it comes to getting oil blends though, the smells can vary so much depending on the specific blend and what oils are used to create it.  This blend is one of the most calming, soothing scents Ive ever smelled.

Ive always put a few lavender drops on my pillow at night, and I have replaced that with the mist above.  Just a few spritzes is all you need.  It puts me right into a peaceful calm as I lay my head down.  Ive also been putting the oil blend on my wrists everyday (along with a spritz or two of the spray), and I find myself with the biggest smile on my face every time I apply it.  Seriously.

When reading the description of the reiki infused energy put into this, I can only agree with every word.  Which only makes me so curious about the rest of her blends.  I love that she offers adorable little sampler bottles.  I'm truly looking forward to trying them all.  Although this scent is heaven to me, I'm not sure I will ever be able to find a scent to compare.  Everyone's scent palette is so different though!  I loved that when I had James smell it the first thing he smelled was the Juniper, and the first thing I smell is the vanilla & lavender...

Each blend comes with its own little card, with a beautiful ritual on it on how to use it, as well as a little poem.  There is so much love and intention put into this product.  It truly shines through when you receive her package, from the beautiful gift wrapping, to the intention cards, to the handwritten note, etc.  So many little details.  This would make a perfect gift for someone you love.  (or a wonderful little self care token).

I honestly cannot say enough good things about this blend.  I can't speak for the others in her shop, but I can only imagine if they are created with the same love and attention, that they are just as amazing.  And I love that each time I use it, I think of my parents, my guardians.

This post is titled Desire because when I found this hat for $2 at a garage sale all I could think about was Bob Dylan's album cover from Desire... I know that hat is not identical, but something about the vibe of it just reminded me of Dylan.  So everytime I wear it I call it my Dylan hat.  Btw, isn't that album cover just beautiful???  The colors and textures, and that grin on his face.  :)

Hints of spring are coming our way and I couldn't be happier.  Today the sun is shining, and after coming off of a sort of emotionally low week, it feels great.  Yesterday I spent some time in my studio creating for the first time in a long time.  It felt good.  I think I have been going in so many other directions lately that I have lost touch a bit with my own artistic endevours.  It's time to get my creative energies flowing again.  Springtime has a way of allowing that to happen, after so many cold dreary days.

All I know is I am so ready to sit in a river.  I hope we get just enough rain to fill up our river, and then let summer begin!!!  So looking forwards to bbq's and rivertime.

FEATURED BRANDS

Just a little update to let you know I have all the links up on my Featured Brands page now!  A great quick reference to the rad Handmade Artists & Brands I have collabed with here on the blog, the Bohemian Collective and my instagram.  These are all people I personally love, respect & sport.  Ive broken them up in sections of Brands (larger companies or smaller boutiques who sell others brands), Handmade Artists (all handmade jewelry & clothing designers), Herbals (you guessed it, herbal products) and Home Decor.  This will help you to find things a bit quicker if your looking for something specific.  I will update this list as often as possible!

I am beyond blessed and honored to work with so many rad people.  It truly is something that brings me so much joy, to share the work of other artisans I believe it.  Which as many of you know is partly why I started the Bohemian Collective.  My personal world and the world of the boho collective often blend together, so if it's been in a lookbook over there, it most likely has also been featured over here in my personal, day to day style, or on my instagram.  The two worlds definitely collide.

I know it can be hard to find someone sifting through old blog posts, plus Squarespace only shows the latest 30 style posts at a time (such a bummer)... So hopefully this list will be of help to my readers!

A huge thank you to all of the amazing artists and brands who have given me the pleasure & honor to work with you over the years.  It's been an amazing journey and has bloomed some amazing friendships, conversations and so much more.  I will never stop being in awe of art, and the people who make it come to life.

If you follow me on instagram you probably have noticed alot of home photos lately.  Ive been very focused on my nest lately.  Partly out of excitement for something coming up, but also I find myself going through natural ebbs and flows of being really into my space.  Right now, I am just really into home.  I can be a very big home body, and I don't mean that lightly.  You could even say, Hermit.  This winter season has brought on that part of myself.  I'm so ready for the sun to come out and to get outside and play, but lately while the weather has been cold and rainy, I just want to stay home, nest, sit by the fire, drink coffee and basically just be.  Could be part of the retrograde period we are in too, seeping in an extra dose of slow motion and rewind.  The past few days especially, between retrograde, the full moon + my moontime, my body has been requesting to just do absolutely nothing of importance.  Which is not a bad thing.  It's been a good opportunity to take to just be.  We all need that, cyclically, to recharge.  Right now my battery is sputtering out and in need of a good recharge.  It can be easy to confuse these times with being lazy, or un-accomplished, or whatever label you want to put on it, when you pretty much always have a to-do list.  But if you can just set those thoughts aside and go with it, you will feel so much better and re-energized within a few days time.

I'm in an interesting place with 'home' right now.  I am a constant re-arranger.  I love decorating, and re-decorating, and you can find me doing something to our home almost every day of my life.  That is how much I love it.  Our home is really feeling magical, and is so full of beauty, and old things, and sentimental things, and things that make me happy.  I feel truly blessed to call this place home.  And at the same time, I can't stop thinking about our future home.  James and I have talked alot about moving to a new home in the future, and we both have it on our hearts lately.  So even though I'm happily nesting away everyday here, I'm also in la la dream land over a new place.  I can't explain why.  Something in my heart is just pulling me, and has been for some time, to make a move.  It's like we both know this is not where we want to live for the rest of our lives, or where we want to raise our future kiddos forever, etc.  Maybe with my word being Root this year, part of the call is to find the place I really want to put down real roots.

We are not in a rush.  We will be patiently waiting for the right timing, the right home, the big YES.  We will know it when it comes along.  It feels so good to have the same dreams, goals and visions with your husband.  I think we are more on the same page this year than we ever have been and its such a good feeling.
