Hello babes!  New Moon, Monday, A New Day.  I have been super off with my blogging lately b/c life has filled me up between working on the magazine and personal stuff.  After having one of the worst migraines of my life the other day, I really got serious about looking deeper into some health issues that have been concerning me for a while.  I am taking action through diet & lifestyle changes, and made an appointment for a whole body checkup and to talk to my doctor about getting a full panel blood work done up.  I spent a day pretty stressed out about it all, but I feel like I'm taking the appropriate road and will keep on this journey to total wellness one day at a time through making the correct choices for myself.  I feel like this journey started about a year ago with my breakdown of realizing I was working too hard and needed to find more balance in my life.  I feel like I have really found that over the course of the past year, but now it's time to focus on other internal issues, while still keeping that balance of work and rest.  So though I may not being showing up to my blog as much as I'd like, and I have fallen way behind on collaborations and commitments I have made to many people, hopefully everyone will understand.  It will all get done in right timing, I'm sure of it.  Same with the magazine.  If it takes me a little longer than I want to get it out, so be it.  I'm not willing to throw my health out of balance for anything right now.  I'm taking it very seriously this time around.

As for this lovely outfit, I'm super sad this dress isn't available anymore bc it's so wildly comfy, but ppla has lots of other cute & cozy attire.  Same with these booties... Ive had them for a few years now and still love them.  The gorgeous necklace from wandering bones & leather jewelry from oli rose is still available though!

This little corner of my home is still my favorite nook.  I love the lighting that comes through the window.  It's now Banjo's favorite spot too.  He sits by the windowsill and looks out at the birds and bugs.  He loves it a night when the bugs come out on the window.  This windowsill is full of old bottles, crystals and knick knacks and he is so good about knocking things over.  I'm really surprised by this actually!  He is growing and changing so much.  We are so wildly crazy about him!!!  I'll have to share an update about him soon.

I'm hoping I can find a new balance and check in here more often that I have been... but if not, you know why.  xoxo

I'm super excited to share that our new Luna Owl design is now available on 3 different shirt styles in Skyline Fever's shop!  A little below on the design...

The day of the past Full Moon / Total Lunar Eclipse / Blood Moon - I spent the whole day outside, in my teepee, with my self, my thoughts, my tools, my sketchpad, my tea, and the moon.  I did not want to let a moment go by of this special time wasted on work or something meaningless.  I spent the day in intention, and I am so glad I did.  It filled me up so deeply, and felt so healing.

I haven't drawn for the pure pleasure of drawing in quite some time.  I could even say years.  I had no idea the owl I drew was going to be a shirt design until I was finished.  I just allowed myself to sketch.  It was a feeling that took over, like I got lost in the art.  My eyes were blurring and crossing as my pencil just flew across the page almost like it had a mind of its own.  It was awesome.  Made me realize how much I love drawing, and how long its been since I let myself get lost in the muse like that.  I may have to make this a full moon ritual.  It was wonderful.

The moon was incredible too!  Did you get to witness it where you are?  What did you do on this amazing day?  I'd love to hear everyone else's experiences. Ive been wanting to sit and write a blog post in depth about it, I have just had such little time lately.  I am crazy knee deep in the magazine creating, have had company to do photoshoots, among many other things.  Life has just been to full to even blog much.  But I'm starting to see the magazine come into itself and it's getting me super excited for it's release.  It most likely will still be about a month before it comes out, but fingers crossed it will be even sooner!

OUTFIT DETAILS: muscle tank - wolf child // chambray shirt - oasap // jeans - fp from dolkii // hat - free people // sandals - blowfish shoes // turquoise ring - jennakoo // vintage cuff - red rabbit

I think Ive worn these jeans for a week straight now.  I love denim with stretch that you can wear over and over again before washing.  These high waisted skinnies are just about perfect in my book, and uber comfy.  These sandals have also been my go to sandals on the daily lately.  They are just so comfy, go with everything and eassssyyyyy.  Lately Ive been very into easy, like jeans and a tee (in love with wolf child's new collections). I'm loving the slight shift in weather, even though its not quite autumn feeling here in area of Texas.  Still in the 90's most days.  But the mornings and evenings are getting cooler and before you know it I'll have to bundle up to have my morning coffee on the porch.

Speaking of morning coffee... I'm attempting to cut back on sugar drastically.  Yesterday was day one, and all I did was have one cup of coffee instead of two, and put a little less coconut palm than usual.  I also didn't have toast with my breakfast, and I didn't have my mid day Lara Bar.  By mid day I had a headache that lingered all day long, all night and even worse when I woke up this morning.  It's crazy how much very little sugar affects us.  This morning I caved and had my second cup of jo, but I am still going to try to eliminate it when possible.  Instead of toast with jam along with my eggs and avocado, I'm having my sweets through fresh fruit.  A simple switch.  I'm constantly working on striving towards a healthy diet and lifestyle... falling back many days, but getting back up on that horse when I can.  Even at the young age of 33 I'm starting to experience physical changes in my body, like arthritis in my knees, among other things.  I need to take control of these things while I'm still young.  Diet is only part of it, I need to exercise, something I rarely do at all.  I sit alot for my work as a full time blogger, magazine designer, and many tasks that go along with our clothing company.  Sitting is a huge part of my job.  I have to create more space in my days for physical activity, my body is screaming for it.  I have such a habit of starting a great health routine with gusto and excitement only for it to wane within a few weeks, and I'm right back where I started.  Maybe talking about it more here will keep me more accountable.

In other news, I'm getting excited to shoot one of my magazine editorials with my friend Katelyn this weekend.  She will be coming by herself which is a first!  Usually it's her and her two adorable kiddos, and sometimes hubs too.  It will be different without them, but I'm looking forward to good one on one time with her.  And to make some magazine magic happen!!!  October is going to be a VERY busy month b/c so many articles for the magazine are coming in alot later than anticipated, so I'll have alot of last minute work piled up at once.  I'm sort of already bracing myself.  But really looking forward to seeing it all come together in the end.  Fingers crossed I don't fall apart in the process.  This creative work I do involving others is so unpredictable, but always so rewarding.  As long as I remind myself to embrace the flow, it's all good.  Letting go of control has been such a lesson for me, and is quite freeing when I can actually do it!
