We took these photos when we went down by our river on my birthday.  It's crazy how much its over grown just from last year.  And its kind of hard to believe it was the first time weve been down there this summer.  There was a tiny bit that was flowing enough to get in.  But Im talking like maybe sit in.  Standing its not even up to my knees.  We need some major rain.  Even after all we got for a few weeks, its still so so low.  But the grass is green and the animals are out!  We spotted those two baby deer on the way down there.  Ive been seeing lots of baby deer.  Twice Ive seen one just outside our back yard this week that is so tiny, just a few weeks old.  Its so cute.  I have yet to catch a photo of it.  I only see fleeting moments of it with its mama keeping a close eye on me.  I just love the look on its little face in this photo above!  And the look on Violet's face in the photo above it, ha ha.  She enjoyed our time down there.

When we were there we came across the bones of about half a deer.  We went back today to collect them.  They are not quite done, still a tiny bit of soft tissue left on them, so I just left them in my woods to finish their process.  Its very rare I have come across so many parts like that.

We found the rock that says 'this rock belongs to god' down there too.  I just thought it was funny.  I love coming across random things like that.

In case your wandering, that rad vest was a gift from my aunt for my birthday (good taste)  and I have no idea where its from, but I love it.

BIRTHDAY DINNER

Yesterday we celebrated my birthday with James parents.  We went to a mexican restaurant that none of us had been to before.  We had the yummiest coconut rum and cranberry drinks, and their homeade corn tortillas were to die for.  And for my birthday they all came by as sang to me and adorned me with this huge hat.  It was fun.  And we got free sopapillas!!!  It was a nice time and Im so glad we went out.

Then his parents needed to pick up a few things so we went to the new heb and James dad was so excited to show me around in there.  It was so cute.  I bought myself some flowers and whiskey as a birthday gift to myself.  Im a happy camper.

When we got home, James and I took Violet down to the river.  Ill post some photos soon.  She loves it down there.

Im excited, in two days one of my besties, Katelyn will be here to visit!  And then we get to party again!  I hope I never get tired of birthdays.

BABY DON'T WORRY

Saturday we had a full day of family and friends.  Starting out with this little boy's birthday party.  He was so cute and had so much fun.  I also got to see his baby brother for the first time since I left the hospital after his birth.  He is so darn precious.

Is he not the sweetest?  He is a week old today!

Then we went to visit my family at my nanna's house.  We got to see my nanna, my brother, my nephew, my aunt, and my cousin and his new girlfriend.  It was so good to see everyone.  I got the sweetest video of Aiden singing me a Bob Marley song.  Its kind of dark and the quality isnt great, but it was too sweet not to share.  This is actually the second round of him singing it to me.  The first one was even sweeter, a moment I will not forget.

I love that little man.

Then we left my nanna's around 8:30 that night and went to James parents house where they were having a 50th birthday party for his aunt.  Right when we walked into the bar they were all line dancing, even his dad.  It was hilarious.  We ended up hanging out with his family until 2 in the morning.  It was a long long day full of family love.

Did anyone get to witness the super moon?  It has been so beautiful the past two nights.  If you missed it, the KV Moon Reports were posted on friday.  Go check them out!

The Mountain Girl Clothing giveaway ends in 2 days!  Check back later today on the giveaway page for an awesome giveaway from Blowfish Shoes!

And last but not least, a message from my 5 year old nephew... "baby don't worry, about a thing... cause every little thing, is gonna be alright."  <3

This handsome little thing is Navarro, my besties third child.  I was able to be in the delivery room and witness him coming into this world, a big first for me.  Something Ive always been a bit (okay, very) scared of... but I don't think I could of witnessed a better birth for my first.  This was Shelley's first natural birth, so we were experiencing some big firsts together.  She has no idea how amazing she did.  We were all amazed by her composure and strength through the whole thing.

The actual delivery happened so fast, and I was behind the lens of my camera, I can barely even see that exact moment in my mind.  It was pretty dark too, so the photos didn't quite come out.  But the whole experience was awesome.  Didn't totally take away my fear of giving birth, but it showed me that I can do it, no matter how I think I can't.

It was amazing to see the difference in the baby's alertness right after delivery without drugs, to my friend who (unhappily) had to have a c-section.  He was opening his eyes and making contact with you right away.  It was incredible.  Man my friends make some cute babies!  He is just perfect, in every way.  Just like little Laurel is.

I stayed at the hospital with them after the birth, so I got to see Shelley's other two kids come meet him first thing in the morning.  The looks on their faces were priceless.  They were so delighted.  This little man is going to be one very loved tot.
