Ive been all about my home this week.  I think after being so busy with the Dylan shirts for a month straight, I completely lost all time and energy to put into my home, which is normally a daily thing for me.  I love when my home is clean, my floors are vacuumed, things are put away.  It just makes me feel less stressed.  Of course its not always like that.  Its a constant thing... but letting it go for weeks and weeks, it got bad!  I didn't just have dust bunnies, it was more like dust monsters!!!  My vacuum had been clogged up so bad it was better just to sweep, but James fixed it up for me and it works like new again.  (yes, i get completely excited over my vacuum).

This weekend has brought much stress relief to my life!  I finally took some time off and it felt so good.  Friday afternoon James and I took a trip to Fredricksburg so I could buy this beautiful flag you see above for an upcoming lookbook, and just for my home b/c its beautiful.  It will be adorning our porch soon.  We walked around the town after that and grabbed some dinner at this place we had gone to with my mom many years ago.  We took a back road home that we had no idea where it led to and it ended up being the LONG way home, but it was super nice.  It was a small backroad with lots of ranches and cattle.  We drove over about 10 cattle guards.  We were just glad there was an out and we didn't have to turn around and go back to the entrance b/c it was the longest road ever!

Saturday I spent the entire day cleaning the house.  Man it felt good.  Its already a mess, just two days later, ha ha.  But much cleaner than it was before.  It instantly made me feel good.  Sunday I intended to knock out all the rest of my custom orders but I felt really tired and had a hard time focusing on anything, so not much got done at all... but that was a pretty good thing in the end.

Then yesterday after work we hit some thrift stores in Bandera and had the best thrifting luck ever.  I found so many things that reminded me of my mom, even found some of her broken china jewelry at one place.  And an old drawing of my friends dad who passed.  It was like their spirits were all around us yesterday and it was such a good feeling.  Ive been missing my mom so much lately, so it was like a big warm hug.

This morning James is home and he dug up our little rock path we made over a year ago that we did wrong and instantly got buried in dirt the first time it rained.  So I got out their and put my hands in the dirt with him and relaid it.  Its so cute, hopefully we did it RIGHT this time!  I guess well see when it rains.

Now its time to get back to work.  Get caught up on customs.  Before I know it well be knee deep in shirts again.  This round of Dylan tee pre orders ends in two days!!!

On the new moon a few days ago James asked me if I wanted to go to his folks house and walk around in the creek, and I jumped to saying YES!  I have been working so much and so hard lately any little excuse for a break, especially out in nature, I am game!  It was just what I needed.  One of our favorite things to do is just walk around the woods and creek that he grew up on.  I always bring a bag with me to pick up sticks, feathers and bones along the way.  This time I found a beautiful old brown bottle and a buzzard feather.

And today Im taking the DAY off!  I'm so excited.  Life really has been hectic lately, so today will bring some much needed relief.

What do you do when you are burnt out, but have little time to escape?

Little captures of life this week... This week has been far better than last.  Still so much to do but feeling a bit less overwhelmed with it all and reminding myself we can only do what we can do each day.  We have been working hard at getting all the Dylan tee pre orders shipped out and are finding its taking longer than we thought.  But we are getting there!  Hoping to get as much as we can done over the weekend.  I still have tons of custom orders in as well as a wholesale order of my own, so all I can do is one. thing. at. a. time.  And keep reminding myself that this is okay.  Ive been doing alot more multitasking this week.  The plants above that got planted, I did while waiting for my homeade fries to bake before we started the burgers... squeezing in as many little bits of life that I can between work.  I have also allowed myself to take time to work out everyday and that has helped me so much with my energy levels to get more things done.  I definitely still have felt some of the weight of the energies lately and have found myself in a few grumpy and disgruntled moods, but they pass and I find myself feeling happy again before I know it and feeling so grateful for so many things.  This huge shirt order has taught James and I so much.  Just about anything that could of gone wrong, has gone wrong.  I won't go into details b/c I just feel like its a bit too unprofessional for business, but man its been tough and we have fought so many obstacles with this process.  But its been a huge learning opportunity for us and next time we will know so many 'what not to do's' that should help out later.  We have felt every emotion through this rollercoaster ride of extreme happiness, disbelief, gratitude, overwhelming shock, frustration, anger, defeat, triumph, exhaustion, losing our minds, jumping up and down with so much joy... You name it, we felt it.  I'm just so happy things are smoothing out, we are getting it done regardless of obstacles, we are seeing the light and we are still so very grateful.  It feels like a new beginning for Skyline Fever and it excites the pants right off of us!  Thank you for all of your patience as we get these babies all packaged up and sent out.  I will announce here when they are all sent out, and when they are finally in the shop for sale again!

EASTER

Laura via Roots & Feathers

The past 3 Easter's we have spent the day with James folks going to Fredricksburg to walk around the shops, eat lunch and go to the Wildseed Farm and/or Luckenbach to listen to music.  Its kind of become a little tradition and I love it.  The day before we got together with my family and had dinner, so it was so nice to visit with both sides of our family over the weekend.

We also visit this place each year that has tons of iron yard art, planters and other miscellaneous things... I love just walking around oooing and ahhhing over everything.  And so far each year, we have taken photos in front of this tree and fence with honeysuckle that you see below.  We even parked in the same spot, ha ha!

Wildseed Farm
Wildseed Farm

The wildseed farm has very little flowers this year compared to last.  We are assuming b/c of the drought.  It was kind of sad seeing what one year difference can make with no rain.  We need some rain so bad.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!
