So, the other day I decided to straighten my hair... something I haven't done in months, and was pleasantly surprised to learn how much I loved it.  Ive never really been into spending ANY time on my hair.  Most days I just let it air dry out of the shower, or twist it up in a bun for a while if I want it to be wavy, and then just tossle it with my fingers.  I feel like I don't quite understand hair the way some girls do... I'm not good at curling it, and when I do it only lasts for 30 minutes anyway... I see all these amazing hair styles everywhere but haven't quite mastered any of them myself... Um... maybe b/c I don't spend alot of time doing my hair, ha!  I think I don't have the patience for it honestly.  I like to be able to get dressed, put my makeup on and be ready within 15 minutes.  All this to say... I'm glad I took the time to straighten it now that it is long, b/c I did love it!

The other day we popped into a Goodwill we have never ventured into before and I scored these jeans.  It's hard to find skinnies that actually fit my legs b/c I'm a shorty... They are usually way long, so I was one happy little girl!  Other than that, the place was a bomb and I doubt we will be going back.  Man do I wish we had the kinds of thrift stores Austin has around here... although most of them are way overpriced.  Thrifting is not what it used to be when I was 15 and you could grab an amazing vintage bag for $.99c.  With the exception of the few adorable granny and pop ones we have out here.  I think those are my favorites.  Although maybe since I don't live in Austin, I just don't know where the good ones like that are... I need to do some more exploring...

Anyway, I'm a rambler this morning... The past two days I have been unexpectedly consumed with tshirts orders for my hubbies new Dylan shirt!  We are taking pre-orders for them through this coming monday and we are blown away with the response, literally.  We had no idea people would love this shirt so much, I mean I know how much I love it... but wow!  There are alot of camfire junkies, moonlighters, whiskey drinkers and dylan lovers out there!  Cheers to that!  We cannot thank you enough for this amazing response!  If you missed it, check out this post here to find out all about it.

I have fallen a bit behind in my own shop, and my house work... so hopefully today I can squeeze in some good lovin' on both of those fronts.  If you are waiting to hear from me on etsy, I'll be there as soon as I can!  I haven't forgotten about you!   As of midnight last night we got most of the invoices sent out for the shirt pre-orders, and hopefully by today we will be caught up, so check your emails!

THANK YOU!!!!

3 WAYS TO STYLE A TEE

Laura wearing Skyline Fever

Since we are taking pre-orders for this new Skyline Fever shirt this week, I thought it would be fun to share a few different ways to style a tee.  I think so many people think tees are just for jeans, but that is so not the case!  Here are just 3 examples of my favorite ways to wear a tee.

For the first look I paired it with cut offs and a kimono, and for an extra pop I added a little crochet vest.  A very simple way to add some flavor to cutoffs and a tee.  Still very casual and laid back and easy to wear, especially with moccs.

For the second look I paired it with my favorite Novella Royale bells and a fringe leather jacket.  This is probably my favorite go to fall look, a pair of bells, some sort of jacket or sweater, boots and a tee.  Can't beat it.

For look 3 I chose something a bit lighter and more feminine for spring days, day dates and days you just wanna feel a bit more girly but still be casual and comfy.  Would look super cute with flats too for extra comfort.  This was layered over a dress, but it could of just as easily been a skirt.

We are taking PRE-ORDERS for this shirt through Monday only.  If you want the details check this blog post here.

At the beginning of this year, one of the things I put on my list that I would like to do was to have more fun with my outfit shoots.  Basically just to 'play', and I can say that is just what I have been doing so far and its been so much fun.  The whole point of them is to just have fun anyway.  I use them in a way as continual practice with my camera for when I do my real lookbook photoshoots.  Learning light and angles is a process where you can never stop learning, especially now that at least 50% of my photos are taken on my phone these days... I can easily fall out of practice with my dslr.  I'm also challenging to use my phone in ways I would normally my dslr too though, so its just been fun to keep pushing myself in seeing things in new ways through both.  I also just got the new Beautiful Mess photo actions and Im having so much fun playing with them!

I am sooooooooooo happy that spring is here!!!  (I actually still have a few outfit posts from winter I haven't even shared yet... but these springs days have just got me so excited)  It has made James and I want to get out of the house alot more, even if its just doing little things in our small town.  Yesterday we went on a little date to some thrift stores and our local wine bar.  It was such a good night.  After a while of us both feeling a bit out of sorts with each other, it seems like as the season has began to change, so has our interaction with one another.  In ways, it has almost felt like we are dating again...  Amazing how that can happen out of the blue after being married for almost 7 years.

Cheers to spring!

So, to say I'm obsessed with these Novella Royale pants is an understatement.  The color, the print, the fit, every inch of them is perfect.  And I'm pretty much in love with this whole outfit.  I made this moon necklace for my shop a few weeks ago and have worn it so much since I'm just going to keep this one and make another for the shop.  I love it way too much.  Its not in the shop yet, but I'm going to try to get it in there by tonite (fingers crossed).  My days have been so full lately it seems like little things like that have been hard to get accomplished...  I'm almost completely caught up with my custom orders, minus the ones I am waiting on supplies for!  Which is exciting and means I can work on some new things for the shop soon.  I also have a few newer pieces just waiting to be photographed and listed... so keep your eyes on the shop for those!

I'm actually kind of loving the shed being where it is.  I was afraid b/c it is smack in the middle of where I normally take my photos outside, but it was our only option for placement where we live... But it is now providing me with some new backgrounds!  So yeah, you might be seeing this shed crop up in more and more photos.  We are excited to get our garage back to being James studio for Skyline Fever.  Right now it is so full of stuff from moving things over from my parents house this past year that he couldn't even work back there.  He has a tiny card table set up in our back room right now.  So this will be a very wonderful transition for him once its done.

I'm about to post a new giveaway, so stay tuned.  Also, the new energy report from KV is up on the 'astrology' link.  Enjoy!
