Our Weekend in Photos...

We had a fun filled weekend with company.  Our friend Katelyn and her hubby and daughter came to stay with us to go to the Renegade Fair in Austin.  Over the weekend we went to Isabel's ballet performance, had a bbq, swam in the river, had lots of giggles and way too much good food.  It was so nice to see them and little miss Leena did not want to go home today.  It was a super fun weekend with all of our friends.  There were a ton more people and events than pictured here, but I didnt get it all captured.  I purposely did not take my camera to the river so I could really enjoy myself.  I think I had a kid in my lap this whole weekend!!!  I loved it.  But I must admit, its kind of fun being like the 'gran-friend' who gets to play with them and then they go home :)  I get the best of them!

Now its hard to get myself back to work, but it must be done!  I have orders to fill & ship, as well as lots of blogging goals, including a giveaway!  Maybe tonite :)

An Interview with Me & My Boy...

Okay, so I have this super duper cute friend who now lives in California... way too far away... whom I just adore.  Funny, we had class together in school but never really talked.  It took her being a mutual friend of two boyfriends to become good pals.  And more so in just the last few years.  Those of you who have been following me for a long time will remember her beautiful face from photoshoots I did.  She is such an amazing model and Ive had so much fun shooting her over the years.  She is working on branching out with her own handmade designs and I think they are just so her and so creative.  Her etsy shop, Christee Gee, has handmade recycled tshirt necklaces and some of the raddest recycled magazine necklaces, you must check them out!

She also has a blog where she interviews amazing artists and musicians with a headline called "20 Questions"... Im honored to say that James and I are the feature this week.  It was such a fun little interview, and I love the way she did it with both of us answering the same questions.  James wrote some pretty sweet things about me and it melted my heart.  Go check it out here.  And follow her blog while you are at it.  You'll get to read some interviews from some awesome people.  Last week was Mike Herrera from MXPX.  And she makes an adorable video like this one for each interview... she is so cute and creative.

Go show this sweet girl some support.  She is working so hard on creating her dream of moving towards branching out to run her own shop and other things.  This girl has one of the biggest hearts I know.

And if you missed my last post, check out another interview on Ruche's blog...

Ruche Interview + Photoshoot...

Remember this post I did just a week ago?  Well, I love this dress so much, I had to do another shoot.  This time I paired it with three different pieces of Violet Bella jewelry that can all be found in Ruche's shop along with this lovely dress.  (the ring is coming soon)  This photoshoot was actually a very inspiring one for me.  I havent dont an outdoor shoot playing with lovely lighting in far too long.  It brought back my passion for it, and I had so much fun exploring the trees next to our new house all by myself.

The Outfit:
pearl & bow earrings - Violet Bella
little chair necklace - Violet Bella
pink tights - Target
vintage boots
hair bow by Sookie Says

I just did a lovely interview with Ruche on their blog!  Check it out here.  Im so very honored for them to ask me.  I truly love and believe in their company, they are all so awesome.

PEACE,
Laura

Girls Night...

The day I got back into my sewing room I went a little nuts and made myself 3 layering tanks... I wanted to make some new ones for the shop, but I fell so in love with them all I had to keep them.  Which is not something I do very often, so I feel good about it.  Now I have some adorable additions to my summer wardrobe that I am crazy about.  You may remember this & this one in the shop.  I will be making more of these, they are just too wonderful.

And last night for the first time in years, I had a girls night out.  Me and my best friend met up with a mutual friend and went to the movies.  Not just any movies, but our wonderful Bijou, a theater for adults only where you can eat a real meal and drink a beer while you watch your film.  I love it there.  We used to go with my parents there quite often and it was always really special.

We watched Water For Elephants and I fell in love all over again.  I honestly was not to fond of the guy who played the main character from the Vampire movies... But he was a-dorable in this one.  And Ive always loved Reese Witherspoon.  The story was perfect, the look of the film was inspiring, and tense forbidden love story was so true feeling.  Great film and I want to see it again.

I got dolled up in one of the layering tanks I made along with my mother's old sandals...

And even snagged a few photos with my beautiful bestie.  We had so much fun together driving in the car.  She makes me laugh so much, like no one else in the world can.  I feel like something comes out of me when Im around her that I dont even know I possess until Im in the middle of it, every time.  I get lots of good laughs at myself around her.  I love it.

The Best Night.  Thank you Shelley.

PEACE,
Laura
