Customer appreciation >>>

I wanted to share a few of my most recent customer appreciation photos.  I used to get alot of these when I made clothing for Violet Bella... and I just started getting a few for Roots and Feathers, and for Skyline Fever.  These always make my day.  These photos vary from real life friends, internet friends and etsy customers.  I love the first two... same ring, two different girls!  Do you have any photos you have taken of yourself wearing our stuff?  If so, send it our way!

And one of my Roots and Feathers necklaces made its way into Threadsence's new lookbook, which is so beautiful.  You can barely see it, but its the chunky beaded feather one.  View the new lookbook here.

Beautiful Bohemiantown Necklace >>>

Im super happy to say that my monday went as planned...  I went to yoga with my friend and then she came back to my house and helped me out with work.  So so nice.  I never ever regret going to my yoga class.  Not just for the yoga, but also for my instructor.  I have a one in a million instructor here in the hill country.  He is just a soul brother that puts my heart aline each time I see him.  He just has a way with words and such a pure spirit that its infectious.  I always leave feeling calmer, stronger, more equipped to face this world.  And I feel loved.  Now Im asking myself why I dont carve out time for myself to go feel this feeling each week???  Because Im crazy.  But I plan to change that.

And my day with my bestie was wonderful.  We went to tons of places and completely exhausted ourselves, ha ha.  But it was so nice just being with her.  I was smiling from ear to ear when I got in  her car just for the fact that I was going to be next to her for the next several hours.  Loved it.  And today, I get to see my little baby nephew!!!  Im so excited to finally hold him.  We have not even seen him since he came home from the hospital, which is wayyyy too long!  Im so ready to really meet him.  And I have a feeling it may propel this baby fever Ive been feeling times a million.  Well see...

A few days ago I received this gorgeous necklace in the mail c/o Vickie of Bohemiantown.  When she contacted me this month for a sponsor spot, I went to check out her site and immediately felt at home with her.  Her style reminds me so much of myself.  And we even both make necklaces from vintage trim!  I love the way she designed hers with the beaded chain in copper.  Everything in her shop is gorgeous, earthy and bohemian.  And even more exciting, she lives in Austin, so we are practically neighbors!

Vicki's packaging was adorable too.  It came wrapped in the material in the background with a little piece of embroidered trim wrapped around it.  And I was stoked to see her necklace attached to a piece of cork.  It was just a beautiful earthy display for her necklace.  I love seeing how other designers package their work.

Time out >>>

Friday I allowed myself some real me time.  I worked on writing and answering some questions mulling around my heart.  I played with Violet and Bella outside.  We layed on the ground.  We had fun with my glasses.  We took pictures.  (when i say 'we', I mean me and the furry ones)  I even broke out my hula hoop.  It was very rejuvenating to say the least.  And Im not quite done with my 'me' time just yet.  Im about to head out with my bestie for a day together.  I cannot wait.  Its been almost 2 months since weve spent any real time together, this is much much needed and way long overdue.  Then tomorrow, cross my fingers, Ill be attending yoga and having friend time with another girlfriend.  And then possibly even seeing my hubby's family and new baby nephew.  I really really hope that all happens.  And Im planning a trip into town to see my family.  I can only go so long...

Thank you for this little blessing of learning and letting go.  And healing.  Lots and lots of healing to come.

PEACE,
Laura

My love for this community >>>

First of all, Id like to say thank you so much for all the love and support you all showed me on my last few posts.  Its been one of those weeks, and its so nice to know there are people near and far who are right by my side through it all.  I wish so bad I could be friends with more of you in real life.  Real, honest and loving friends are hard to come by these days it seems.  You guys made me feel hugged and loved yesterday.

I woke up feeling a bit better today.  Its friday, and I had just a few work things I 'had' to do and got them out of the way.  Im going to treat this weekend like a real weekend.  I just got a reading done by Julie this week and Im excited to go through some questions and really do a bit of soul searching. (these are exclusive to violet bella readers this month)  I have a lot of lessons in  letting go to work through.  With losing family, losing friends, and losing the idea that I can do it all with my work.  Among many more 'losses'.  Im so thankful that so many of my amazing sponsors, artists who I support and support me, have become friends, little needed guides on my journey of life and people whom I can share with.  Its truly become a piece of community for me each month and Im so thankful I keep getting such awesome people to share this with.

I have been finding myself lately so excited to accessorize everyday with handmade items from other artisans.  I quite often wear my own jewelry, but lately Ive had some of the prettiest jewelry made by others come into my life.  Yesterday I wore my wooden painted necklace by Nanoukiko along with Moorea Seal's leather bracelets.  I think so highly of both of these girls.  Natacha and Moorea both not only have amazing collections of high quality original work, but they both have insanely good business ethic and heart along with amazing photography to back their work up.  They both possess everything I look for in a good artist.  Im honored to wear their work each time I do.  This necklace is simply cool.  I love the mix of wood, chain, string and paint, along with tassels.  Just a super cool necklace.  And these leather bracelets go with every single thing in my closet.  Love.  I got the Laura and the Kelly Ann.  My two favorites out of the collection, and I love the sentiment that I get to wear my 'namesake' bracelet along with my dear friend Kelly Ann's 'namesake' bracelet, how cool is that?  (just sharing all these links gives me such a sense of community...)  And of course, I wore my new favorite Skyline Fever shirt!  Love love love.

Along with gorgeous work, Natacha has beautiful eye catching wrapping that makes you not even want to open it up!  So so pretty.  Love this girl.

My boy is off work today and Im going to help him out with making some tshirts.  I love doing this with him.  I think we might just go grab some lunch in town since we have to go to the post office.  And I think Im going to make lasagna for dinner along with some fresh baked garlic spread.

PEACE,
Laura
