As a designer I have always dreamed about having an area in my studio where I have my jewelry set up as if it were in a shop.  Mainly for inspiration.  And partly b/c Ive always dreamt of having my own store.  I simply don't have the room in my house for this right now, so I thought I would create little vingettes every now and then when I have new pretties that I am inspired by.  Most of this batch is new and will be in the shop when I get back from vaca.  I'm so so in love with some of the pieces.  Brown and turquoise are always my autumn colors.  And I'm in love with the new black leather necklace.  I will be making one for myself at some point!

I'm so excited about the little bit of fall around the corner.  October will be a month of photoshoots, layers, nature walks, fires in the backyard, and so much more.

HEAD TO TOE FOR UNDER $150 FEATURING LULU'S

style lulus head to toe for under $150.jpg

My friends over at Lulu's.com and I have teamed up to show you how to style a complete head to toe look for under $150, give or take accessories.  I chose pieces that would not only work really well together as a complete go to look, but pieces that would be timeless in my closet and go with many different pieces that are already in my wardrobe.  This gets you the best use out of investment pieces in your wardrobe.  When I shop for something, I'm always thinking ahead of how it will work with several things I already own.  I like things with versatility, which stretches my dollar alot further than a 'splurge' purchase would.  Here is how I styled one head to toe look (minus the necklace, it's Roots and Feathers and will be in the shop soon).  Below I made 3 collages for other complete outfit ideas from Lulu's for under $150!  Their new fall stuff is amazing!!!

For this trip I realized what a nerd packer I am.  I tried to plan my outfits in advance, which is hard for me to do b/c I usually just put on whatever I feel like for that day.  But I didn't want to pack a bunch of stuff that wouldn't get worn, so I planned as best I could for what we would be doing.  You can't go wrong with bringing your favorite pieces either!  As I was laying out my outfits I thought it would be fun to share some flatlays of them.  I'm not sure how well I will stick to actually pairing these things together on the trip, so well so if this strategy works out or not.  One thing I learned is that I really do love packing!  Its fun!  It's the unpacking that I don't like!

If you want to know where everything here came from, check out these images on my instagram.  I don't have time to list it all here, sorry.

Luckily I can report that our car got fixed last night!  We are going to test it over the next few days before we leave to see if we feel safe enough to take it.  And Bella is doing much much better and is liking her new diabetic kitty food!  Not to worry about the babies while we are gone, our friend is staying at our house and will be looking after them!  So things are looking up!

Most of the blog posts you will see this week are pre-posted, so I won't be able to respond until I return... But it will be super fun to come home to the comments!

So tell me... are you a compulsive packer or a nerdy planner packer?
