Hello little blog... it's been a while.  I have taken a serious little hiatus from here lately.  Not exactly intentionally, it's just sort of happened naturally.  As things in my life have been shifting I have found my focus in other areas.  I am ready to start finding balance with this space again though b/c I know too much time away can be the beginning of the end and I don't want that.

I have no idea what 2015 is going to look like, as it is all the unknown of course, but I have a good feeling about it.  I feel alot of newness coming in.  Big changes and shifts.  I feel like Ive been unknowingly preparing for something yet to be revealed.  Ive lost a bit of focus along the way and am beginning to feel a bit scattered again as I emerge myself back into the real realm of work and doing.  My road splits in so many directions it can get confusing at times which path to take each day.

I keep dreaming about rivers.  Maybe I'm getting the message to go with the flow of life.  Something Ive been learning more and more about as I have allowed myself to 'do' less and 'be' more.  It's kind of against my nature.  I'm a doer.  Constantly.

Slowly but surely I will find just the right balance of work, play, blogging, doing, creating, resting, self caring, etc.  Life happens, inevitably, so the more I learn to go with the flow of the seasons within me, the better I am for it.  I'm trying my best to pay attention.

About the outfit above, is that kimono not freakin amazing???  I love the stitching on it.  The little shop it comes from is so rad, Nomad, a traveling fashion boutique in NYC.  I so wish I could experience physically shopping in it!  If you are in the NY area go check it out!

This was the day I got my hair cut.  Of course I had a fabulous hair day that day.  That always happens right before you cut your hair, right?  I'm still not sure I made the best decision.  I like it some days, but I also really really miss my long locks.  Luckily it is just hair and its constantly growing :)  (a little pep talk reminder to myself)  At least it is really healthy now!

The next two days I'll be at my Nanna's house for her birthday!  Excited to get to spend some one on one time with her and have a girls night out with a movie and dinner.

Is anyone else so glad the christmas holidays are over?  (I am ;)

WHEN MOTIVATION IS LOST

via rootsandfeathers.com

My moments on the blog have been sparse this month.  I still feel like I am in such a period of re-evaluation, but right now I am at the place of no movement.  I know this spot will quickly pass, as all do.  I was at the home-stretch of getting my house completely reorganized and decluttered and then I just stopped.  I lost all motivation.  My laundry has sat in a huge pile on the floor by the bay window for two weeks now, just growing and growing.  And I could say that about every other corner of the house too.

I had a couple day burst of brand new inspiration for my shop, I made so many new pretties, I got the idea to shift my whole shop over to this website here instead of etsy, I rephotographed everything I had in stock + the new stuff, uploaded it all to the site and got ready for a new launch.  I did a test purchase with myself and quickly realized the move I made was not the right one.  The process of getting an order in and shipping it is not nearly as easy as etsy, on top of not being able to connect paypal.  So, now I must put all that work back into my etsy shop for now until a better solution comes along.  It's not that I don't love etsy, it is actually a really great place to sell, I just wanted my own pretty store front right here on my website, to have everything all in one place.  I guess if Squarespace changes a few things, like adding Paypal options, and more streamlined, quick & easy shipping processes then Ill reconsider.  I must say though that my excitement waned a bit about my shop.  I guess after getting pumped for a big fresh new change like that and then just ending up right back where you were, was a little disappointing.  Plus knowing that all that time I spent was almost for nothing.  BUT I am just in need of a little change in attitude... Brush it off, pick myself back up, and move forward.  Maybe some things are just better left as they are.  I will still be changing the way I work and for the time being only offering items that are ready made, one a time.

Another new point of change, I cut my hair two days ago!  It was dark by the time we got home so all I have is a quick harshly lit bathroom selfie.  But I am loving it!  We cut about 6-7 inches off and it feels so healthy, and THICK for the first time in my life!  I don't normally cut my hair 'blunt' and I have really thin fine hair, so this cut makes it really feel thick and full and healthy.  And now it doesn't turn into a rat's nest when I wake up in the morning, ha ha!

I know alot of the changes I have made over the past few months are pretty simple.  De-cluttering my home.  Changing my diet.  Cutting my hair.  Changing my website.  Re-thinking how I create my jewelry & what I offer.  But I hope with time and dedication that all of these little changes add up to create a brand new - bad ass year in 2015.  I feel like my life shifted, cracked open, is letting the bad stuff fall through the cracks, and opening me up for new good things to come in.  Who knows, maybe one of those things will be mini sized ;)

This is one of those outfits I forgot to post a few months back.  It was around the transition of summer's end and the beginning of fall.  This is probably one of my most favorite outfits, so I'm glad its not lost forever!

These fringe boots are so rad and playful.  The way the fringe swings when you walk in them just feels so fun.  As you know, I'm a lover of fringe!!!  Sadly I think this crochet duster is out of stock on F21, but it's quickly become a staple in my closet.  I wore it in one of my latest lookbooks for the Bohemian Collective too!

Digging up these photos from a few months ago is making me miss summer and my ombre hair!  I'm still adjusting to the dark.  Some days I love it, some days I don't.  And I'm seriously contemplating chopping my hair off like this.  But then I see photos of how long it is, and how far Ive come and I get so undecided.  Ahhh...

Today I will be spending as much time as possible by the fireside to ease my cramps.  It feels so good on my soar muscles.  We had appointments and plans for town today and lucky we were able to cancel everything.  (big sigh)

I hope if you find yourself in a spot where you are not feeling so hot today you can find a tiny way to escape for a bit and give yourself some lovin.  Even if its just laying on the floor for 5 minutes and breathing deeply.  xo

THE "PURPLE" GREEN SMOOTHIE

Purple Green Smoothie via rootsandfeathers.com

Time for another smoothie recipe!  A variation of this smoothie has been my go-to green shake for years.  You can always mix it up with whatever ingredients you have on hand.  Below are the ones I used for this particular one.  I'm always fond of the colors these shakes turn into.

THE "PURPLE" GREEN SMOOTHIE

1 cup of orange juice (or any other juice or liquid base)

1 tsp flax oil (I usually add some coconut oil too)

1 tbsp maca powder

1 tsp vitamineral greens (optional)

2 handfuls of frozen berries of choice (I used blueberry + mango)

2 handfuls of greens (I used spinach + dandelion leaf)

agave or honey to taste if needed (use a small amount to start or it will be way too sweet)

Blend you liquids and your greens together first until smooth, then add the rest of your ingredients and blend until completely blended.

Enjoy!  I drink mine with a straw :)
