As I was uploading these images the Typo Negative song Black No. 1 popped into my head, haha.  It's been years since Ive heard that song, but it was like my anthem when I was 15.  Funny how stuff comes back to you like that.  I wore this outfit last friday when James and I went on a date.  It had been so long since we had gone out just for fun, and it was so needed.  When your in a relationship for a long time, inevitably there are highs and lows.  And during the lows it can be so important to get back to the two of you.  It can be hard sometimes with all the day to day stuff going on, and for us, weve had alot of big emotional changes happen in our life over the past 8 years weve been together.  Working through these times together is challenging, and can even rock your foundation.  When that happens, its time to start building it back up, brick by brick.  Getting out of our day to day space is big for us, especially for me b/c I'm home all day everyday.  I can tend to be a big hermit, literally only going to the post office for weeks on end.  So when we do get out to do something other than grocery shop, its always a nice detour from the daily.

I haven't been on my blog as much as I'd like the past few weeks.  I'm in full on makeover mode in my studio and back room.  I'm redoing my studio from the ground up and it's been a huge task to weed out the things I don't use or need anymore.  I'm a bit (alot) of a packrat.  Ive been PURGING.  Getting rid of things left and right.  And I'm still not done.  Now I want to do every room in my house again.  It has been so freeing.  I have a full size couch piled sky high in our garage of things I'm letting go of.  I'll share the makeover when I'm done!  And Ill be sharing pics on my instagram through the process.  Ive never done a whole room makeover before.  Ive rearranged my rooms hundreds of times, always using everything I already own, which is pretty much all stuff that's been handed down to me.  It's exciting to create my dream studio space.  Eeeekkkk!!!  I can't wait to sit down and create my next magazine in this fresh space!

OUTFIT DETAILS: bison tee - axis moon // vintage shorts - sadie deluxe // jacket - sheinside // hat - lulu*s // boots - minnetonka // belt - all american buckles // buckle - gift from a friend // rings - strong medicine studio + bella & chloe + stone sparrow + star native + erica freestone

This weekend was just what I needed after a rough week or so emotionally.  Saturday my bestie and I went to the Kerrville Folk Fest to see David Crosby and spend the evening with our new friends, Tiffany & Aaron.  Tiffany is the artist who made this beautiful tee, which was also featured in the newest issue of the Bohemian Collective Magazine in an animal medicine series.  This was the second time we got to hang out with these two, both during concerts.  With our deep love of the same music, I have a feeling we will be concert buddies for a long time.  It is such a good feeling to meet new people who feel so instantly like home.  I'm looking forward to this friendship growing over the years.

David Crosby was great.  It was just a beautiful thing to watch him play solo some of the songs I grew up on.  I love the Folk Fest so much.  My parents took me there over the years since I was little, and all the people out there just remind me of my parents so much.  I felt like I was surrounded in good company even though I didn't know anyone.  It's just a really good feeling out there.  I told James that when we have a baby, I want to make sure we take them out there every year to experience it.  It warmed my heart just to be on that land again.  The last time I had gone was with my dad to see Steve Earle,  a month before he left this world.  It felt good to make a new memory there, and to hold my parent's spirit with me throughout the night.

Yesterday we spent the afternoon in the river.  Pics coming soon...
