So, the other night my sweet Banjo was sleeping on his bed as the sun was setting and shining just a peek of light through the window onto him.  I couldn't help but take about 100 photos of him sleeping.  And I admit, I was poking and prodding him to wake up so I could see those beautiful eyes of his.  Ha ha!  Crazy Cat Lady at it's finest.  I'm guilty.  He is so damn cute!!!  I seriously don't know how I got so lucky to have 4 of the most beautiful animals on the planet!

This poor boy got neutered & had his front claws taken out this week.  But he is doing so good and back to his usual self getting into all sorts of trouble around the house.  But now he can claw his way onto Nico's cage, or tear up the couch, or claw Bella when he jumps on her, or climb the curtains, or.... He can still chew things up though!!!  Right now he's on a wicker kick. (praying he doesn't start on my peacock chair)... My current background noise is him chewing the hell out of a cardboard box!  But look at that face!!!  He's so cute he can do no wrong.

Ive had to rearrange plants b/c hes been killing them by jumping in them, and I think peeing in them from time to time.  All of a sudden they started looking horrible!  Two he completely killed.  Were having to do some Banjo proofing around here these days.

Violet and him have become the best of buds.  They play alot together and its so sweet.  They never get aggressive with each other and they enjoy each other so much.  Bella still wants nothing to do with him and still hisses at him all the time.  Banjo has figured out that there are deer outside the window in the evenings, so he loves to sit in my studio window and watch the deer.  And he loves to cuddle with his dad in the afternoons when he comes home from work and sits on the couch.  Banjo gets right up on him and purrs.  Something he doesn't do with me anymore, so it's pretty special.  His current favorite toy is the cotton bag with a drawstring that came off our new pillowcase set.  He runs all over the house with it dangling from his mouth!  And he has one crazy voice on him!  He is extremely vocal.  If we go in the other room and close the door, he will stand outside of it and cry.  He cries when we put him in his room for time out or to go to bed at night.  He cries while playing with his toys.  I guess I shouldn't say cry, b/c its not all crying, he is just very vocal about everything.  So different than Bella.  He is different from her in every aspect!

Banjo Juniper has been the biggest blessing to us.  We love love love that little stinker!

I can hardly believe it's already the weekend.  It feels like it was just saturday.  The days, weeks and months have just been flooding together this year.  Everything is moving so fast.

Ive been working on my third issue of the Bohemian Collective Magazine, and each time I begin this process I seem to forget the amount of detail work that comes in to play, especially in the first month, and then in the last month.  It takes me 3-4 months to create one issue since I'm doing it all by myself.  The first month is spent in total brainstorming mode, sending a million emails, waiting for a million replies, hoping things work out, but creating tons of back up plans just in case... My brain literally goes in a million directions.  I can feel my blood racing through my body when I'm in this mode.  It's exhilarating and exhausting, but so exciting!  It's definitely easy for me to burn out quickly though, so my self care is SO important during this time.  I'm really happy that a friend has asked me to join her for yoga class each week b/c I will be looking forward to that reset each week during this crazy creative time.  If I don't slow down and fill that well up I will get sick.  With the way time feels like its moving so quickly these days, it feels like I won't be able to keep my head above the water, but I know I will.  One day at a time.  Creating a magazine is unlike any other thing I have created before.  I'm still pinching myself for the fact that I'm in the middle of working on my THIRD magazine issue!  Wow.  Holy Wow.

Btw, if your new here and are curious where you can find the first two issues, they are available through the links here.

About this outfit... it seriously makes me so happy.  All of these pretty pastel colors together, the flowers, the fringe, the kimono doodles, the rings... It's like a fresh spring smile on my body!!!

OUTFIT DETAILS: tank top - idylwild // cut offs - thrifted // kimono - flying tomato // hat - free people // sandals - blowfish shoes // necklace - jay nicole // bracelet + feather band ring - bella & chloe // flower ring - gypsy warrior // turquoise cuff ring - strong medicine studio // thunderbird ring - arrok // 3 stone turquoise ring - chromafusion // gold criss cross ring - moorea seal

When I saw this Old Spanish Trail top from Idylwild I fell in love.  Being from Bandera, one of the oldest restaurants around is the OST, and even though I never eat there, its a beautiful piece of history we have in our little town.  I have memories of going there alot from my childhood, always wanting to play the jukebox.  Besides that, it's just a bad ass little tank, as are all of their shirts!

Since doing my latest lookbook for the Bohemian Collective, Laurel Canyon, I'm completely in love with shades of white on white, or really cream colors... It's not really a color I gravitate towards alot, but now I think I will more often.  I'm loving layering in this color palette.

I'm really working on getting my closet down to only what I really love and feel joy from.  Two days ago I filled up 3 huge trash bags full of clothes to let go of and it felt so good.  I feel so much light.  I do this every couple of months, and every time I do I feel a bit lighter.  I want to do the rest of my house again now too.

Yesterday James and I met up with some friends for yoga class and it was just what I needed.  Ive been trying to make myself do some at home each day, but I have a hard time making myself focus long enough to stay in poses for very long.  My brain is so active and I get easily distracted.  A class setting is so good for me b/c I love to follow along and just surrender into whatever I'm prompted to do.  I always walk away with the biggest smile, the best feeling, and so much energy after class.  I feel like I'm going in so many different directions right now between creating the next magazine, working on my new studio space, helping James with Skyline Fever, so many collaborations I have to work on, and just keeping up with our home and life.  Trying to always find that balance of doing and being.  Busy and Quiet.  This was a good step towards that balance once again.
